So like you know how in Gozyuger there's the guy who is the main guy's older brother who is obsessed with him and definitely wants to fuck him but also is trying to kill him, and somehow this is only the seventh or eighth most interesting thing about him?

So somewhere around the early forties (Christmas) his storyline finally culminated, and he and Hoeru had a big battle and beat the shit out of each other and were really letting into each other about their past while they did, and it was this whole thing, and then by the end they had this really tearful like apology for everything that went wrong between them, and when I tell you my heart was sinking over how normal this was becoming. And then he sacrificed himself to save Hoeru from an attack that Hoeru definitely could have dodged, and they had this really tearful parting and then the episode is closing out with Hoeru feeling very melancholy at the Christmas party.

And like Gozyuger was already kinda disappointing me and going downhill for months by this point so even though ending Kuon's story like that was a HUGE letdown I was NOT surprised

And then. Omg. You will not BELIEVE.

THEY FUCKING EDDIE MCDOWDED HIM

So he spends the last like six or seven episodes as Hoeru's sword who follows him around begging Hoeru to use him and just being the most annoying and clingy talking sword on the planet and Hoeru is NOT having it, and when I tell you the utter RELIEF I felt over this. I thought for SURE they were going to give him a boring sacrificial lamb ending but NOPE NOW HE'S YOUR PROBLEM HOERU

Okay several things. 1) I hate that you called him that even if it's not wrong in the slightest.

2) I love how I was also thinking Eddie McDowd before you said it.

3) That's so goddamn funny, even if now I just feel so bad for Hoeru. Poor guy's stuck with the most annoying motherfucker around. But it's hilarious.
