What do you think Pero does around Hogwarts while his Bruja teaches? Does he formally learn magic? Work around the castle or in Hogsmeade?
Hello there! I'm so so sorry this took me forever to respond to but I will say I've been giving it a few thinks over the past few weeks.
We know our Pero has magic in him and takes time to learn so he can connect with his Bruja. At the end we find out that he's learned how to remove and disappear her clothes as well as is learning to move things from one end of the room to another.
I don't think he finds magic a necessity though and out of curiosity heads to the wand shop to talk about wand lore and it's usefulness with the portrait of his old friend.
I don't think he works around the castle at all though, only coming to visit his horse and you on occasion until you decide you no longer wish to be away from him most of the year.
He mostly helps procure wood and wand cores, giving him the chance to travel abroad and when things get pretty serious, you resign your post and instead take up with the ministry documenting plants and other botany adjacent organisms that allow you to travel with him.
Saul likes to visit with Pero, the two becoming quite close. Saul is interested in his time period and adventures, while Pero admires the man's curiosity and enthusiasm when he regales him with stories of his travels that vary degrees of drama and peril depending on how much Pero has drunk.
