What a great day
I played an Elvis video and a Beatles video for my seventh-graders.
Really important cultural background for The Outsiders, y’know. Really important.
The one class was so great, too! “Why is everyone screaming? -- Wow, he’s British! -- Which one’s that? -- One of them is called Ringo, right? Which one’s he? -- Is he still alive? -- Is he still alive? -- Is he still alive? -- Why do they only have one microphone?”
And then John gave one of those announcing-an-imminent-guitar-solo screams, and they were all mightily impressed.
