Part 3 of season three Mostly Meevin.

You see what I mean about the wing-dings? I guess what they’re actually saying isn’t as important as the dynamic between Ame and Anders which I’m trying to convey.

I was pretty happy with the poses in this one, less so with the variable side-profiles and Anders one giant hand (which I just spotted). And we finish with a meme.

Part 2 of season 3 Mostly Meevin.

I do kinda regret making the Miimns talk in wing-dings, mainly because I can’t remember what it is they’re saying (apart from panel 3 where it’s "We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!" and panel 2 where the Miimn running away is going "AIEEEE!") I had him run away because i was going to do a Three Stooges thing with them but then couldn’t be bothered drawing three of them.

Artistic choices!

Edit: a bonus comic giving some context to the origin of the mini-meevins (Miimns). Blu and Meevin are both cats uplifted by the mysterious Robot who then takes them on adventures across the infinite universes that are suspiciously like all the tv shows and movies I watched as a kid growing up.

I can’t add all the panels (thanks tumblr for your 10 image limit) but this comic starts with Robot asking Meevin where he wants to go and he says, "Eh. Surprise me." Blu then adds, "Ooh! Put me in charge!"

I made this comic shortly before I came out as trans. Male characters presenting fem? THERE WERE NO SIGNS!

Mostly Meevin S3 finale.

And here we are at the end. I’m not a particularly talented artist (and never will be!) but I really pushed the boat out on this one and I’m pretty happy with the results.

Looking back at my old stuff has been fun - it’s interesting to see how far I’ve come (or not!) The whole Mostly Meevin comic is still up on my Instagram, there’s another two seasons after this which I might do another retrospective on, but for now it’s time to create something new.

Mostly Meevin S3 E9

I really can’t believe that I made this comic about 6 months after getting back into art after a 35 year break. Of course, I had plenty of time, being off work for 9 months - I don’t think I could manage it now.

This control room took so long to draw! I ended up using it as backgrounds wherever I could. Also, Jukka is sitting in the command seat from the Enterprise (but it has drink coolers in the armrest.)

Mostly Meevin S3 E8, in which much exposition is exposited.

Let’s play ‘spot the storyline rip off:’

-Pocket universes running at different clock speeds (Warrior’s Gate; Dr Who.)

-A bored and irritable immortal (Life, the Universe and Everything, Douglas Adams)

-A spaceship disguised as a temple (Stargate)

-Beings devolving to survive a hostile environment (unsure but I know I’ve read it somewhere)

-The line about the place being ‘au naturel’ (Futurama; The Farnsworth Parabox)

I thought I did a slightly better job of the text boxes in this one and also the layout is a bit more imaginative. I remember re-writing it a few times to make sure everything would fit in without blanking too much of the backgrounds.

Mostly Meevin season three, episodes 4 & 5.

The plot thickens! Also introducing Control, an exodimensional being whose abilities are strangely similar to that of Robot.

I was vey happy with the perspective of the sphinx in the last panel but my speech balloons layouts are absolutely awful - if I still had the .tiff files I would definitely redo them all.
