I feel like Tallstar's Revenge would have been a better book if Tallstar wanted to go against the status quo. Like, most of the Clan already thought that tunneling was less useful and it's the role that gets dismantled later in the book. Shrewpaw teases Tallpaw about him becoming a tunneler because he views it as lesser and Heatherstar makes no tunneler apprentices and Talltail is just right along with them 😭😭
In this scenario Sandgorse would be trying to force Tallpaw into moor running so their dynamic wouldn't be lost, but in fact arguably elevated because Tall is interested in the unorothodox thing (plus also helps with like queer coding). The only thing is how would Sandgorse die in this case lol
