Drew this inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the Wachifield image that inspired Friend’s design. Seam’s song is called “Lantern” and these are cats holding little lanterns. So I thought it’d be cool if I drew the two together. King also said Seam’s smile was never the same after Jevil’s imprisonment, implying Seam was the #smileykitty before the incident.. thought about Alice’s quote cause of that line.

♡Firstly, thank you fernsailz both for making the comic that inspired me to make my first, full fledged comic after several years of failing to do so, and also allowing me to do what I realize is the MOST self-indulgent and giddy i've ever been.

♧Secondly, I am nervous, to write this. My knowledge of sonic is not vast. My understanding of characters may slip, despite all the research i put into them. My writing & character voice is subpar, but for once I have managed to create something out of love for this franchise and i think I needed this as well.
So even though I'm scared, frightened by the possibilies, every racing future in my mind that says "things will go wrong" "they will hate you" "you will be a failure" i find kinship in this character. Perhaps i too will learn to live. Perhaps i too will learn to love being alive.
So hopefully, this comic isn't too "out of character" or so blastfully horrificly beyond redemption as my anxious ridden brain percieves it be. I know, in my heart its not. But writing this out feels better than keeping the thoughts within me.

♤Thirdly, I know Chaos 0 isn't exactly a world-renowed beloved character that everyone does indepth analysis or theory crafting on. Thus, this ship may feel strange, or completely out of left feild to some.
In response, I have created an [ additional blog post ] outlining what I believe Chaos 0's character.
Of course, everyones interpretation of a character (what they represent, themes, and how they are handled) is largely a subjective process. So never take my iteration of him as gospel, and i encourage you (who are curious) to seek out information on him and determine for yourself who Chaos 0 is to you.
(That goes for Metal Sonic as well, but i'm focusing on Chaos because if not, who else will?)

Attempting a new style. Mainly inspired by Vewn and a @/tunarune.
It seems doing this helps my wrist, since I loose the stinky habit of pressing hard/death grip on my pen. It’s also fun :] I like this style, makes me less insecure about my shakiness and lineart. Don’t think I can capture the magic of Vewn and tunarune, but it’s fun too do regardless.
Wanted this piece to be my final send off before Chapter 5 announcement.
This is the cumulation of all my theories and analysis into a single piece. Originally titled, “pathways” but now “routes”. I made this in 3 hours as my deadline (DELTARUNE TOMORROW) was fast approaching. Haha. There’s some fun Easter eggs within each “frame”- including the green one. Each frame represents certain aspects of its holder.
A quick explanation: Gaster/ the Program tracks the shadow crystals upon obtainment. Seam wants these crystals and incentives the player/Kris to collect them. The Mantle is stolen, and in the quest for finding the Mantle, we learn how to do the weird route. I tie it all back to the Soul and to Dess. There is a path here, constructed for the casual player.. A guiding light towards darkness that is subtle, but I notice it’s flicker.
This will be the only time I acknowledge this work on my art blog (as I prefer blog separation) but… In celebration of Chapter 5, I shall.
When writing “Odds & Ends”, my re-vamped Seam analysis/theory, I thought that Friend and Seam were in cahoots but had no evidence to prove it, so I refused to mention it. However, new information on Friend arose. It’s ability to manipulate the walls of our world- letting us access areas we otherwise wouldn’t have. Because of this information, I can now confirm that Friend is a part of Crystal Route (defined by obtainment of Crystals). In fact, I should’ve realized this after acknowledging Friend as a “DEVICE” issued within our Program. The program tracks the shadow crystals when obtaining them, and we see Friend’s helpful behavior in regards to that. It summons the teacups in Queens basement, allowing us to get rid of the electric gate. It provides a source of healing during ERAMs fight (the more deaths= higher candy chance). It also offers a waferguard just before fighting the Titan/facing the Knight. Whoever the voice is, whether it be Gaster or not: wants us to collect these trinkets. Friend becomes a means of assisting us in obtaining them. Seam is literally the only character to reference the direct “darker yet darker” quote, and collects crystals Gaster is interested in. The crystals that relate to the book in the ROOT’s room, as they likely formed from the fallen star’s river of tears.
It’s makes me feel very happy to see this tie together in a neat bow, without forcing it. I was already so sure of Seam and Gaster connections, so it’s great to see that The three common forces that’s plagued my mind, were actually, as I thought, working in tandem.
Of course, I’m certain Toby will prove this blabber wrong in a way I could’ve never expected. I’m excited to see it. I very much doubt anyone will see this, as the wave of “deltarune” filtered tag to avoid spoilers has begun, haha! Perhaps, if you read this. You are the lucky few. Or unlucky? Haha, who knows.
