Headcanons for Mycroft taking care of his sick SO? I think I'm falling down with a nasty cold 😰🤧
First things first Mycroft would try to decipher the symptoms properly (keep in mind he does NOT have a PhD in any medical sciences beyond the uses of politics but has enough intelligence to discern what is something non-life threatening and something that requires a professional medical diagnoses as Mycroft is AGAISNT self-diagnoses of any serious mental/internal/external illnesses. YOU DO NOT SELF-DOX YOURSELF WHEN A MEDICIAL DIAGNOSES IS NECCESSARY FOR A SERIOUS ILLNESS AND GOOGLE IS NOT A DOCTOR. SELF DOXING=/= SELF ADVOCACY)
Depending on what he can collect it can either go two ways:
Non-threatening illness (common cold/fever/allegories/etc.):
Mycroft will be on you like a mother hen making sure you take your medication like clockwork to kill the virus off faster. You may think this is cute at first but rust me when you’re sick this will get very annoying very fast. He will come for you even if you’re on the toilet because “You must be precise in fighting off the disease lest it tarry on longer.”
He will also be on you to drink your fluids. This man had to help with a sickly Sherlock AND Eurus-if you think he can’t get you to drink THINK AGAIN.
Also if you think you’re not going to eat THINK AGAIN. Mycroft will have you on a liquid diet until you’re better and hand make it himself if that’s what gets you to eat it. He may love you but that won’t stop him in his quest to make you feel better.
It should also be said that Mycroft is going to be a bit cautious around you as you’re ill because the government can’t afford to have him sick so don’t be too put off if he’s not cuddling you the whole time. I’m not saying Mycroft will wear a hazmat suit to pet your hair but he will be washing his hands more than he regularly does.
Mycroft will also suffer the climate change in the house to make you feel better.
If it helps Mycroft might preform for you to help you sleep and will most likely be the best caretaker than either of your parents but with the added bonus of him being sexy while taking care of you.
However if the illness starts to run on longer than its allocated time period than you will head into the other option Life Threatening Illness ™ .
Life threatening illness:
You will be rushed to a doctor unless you are unable to move due to physical pain. In that case several doctors will be rushed to the home instead.
This may also mean that there will be several trucks with medical supplies and machines on there way but don’t worry the lawn can be rebuilt!
Mycroft will spare o expense and will pretty much threaten/throw money at them to make you better.
Since this is life threatening (and has a low probability to be passed through skin to skin contact) Mycroft will be at your side holding your hand which means Anthea must pick up the slack until you’re in the clear.
Anything that you want puppies included with will brought to help you feel better (as long as the dog’s health will not be compromised.)
Mycroft will not rest until the doctors are 100% sure that they know what they’re treating. Sherlock and John may be brought in as well just in case.
Dear god if you thought that Mycroft was bad when it was a common cold he will become insufferable while you have a life threatening one but the good news is that you’ll probably asleep or barely conscious through all of it unlike everyone else who are most likely low key jealous.
You’re going to be in good hands but damn you will probably fear any illnesses after this because worried Mycroft can be the most unbearable one until you’re well again.
