Widgix- Scrap Metal Pokémon
Type- Steel
Ability- Light Metal/Technician/Pickup (Hidden)
Born from junk piles, Widgix are inquisitive Pokémon that enjoy building things. They’ll use any small pieces of metal to construct impressive creations, though the functionality of these inventions is questionable. Rival Widgix will sometimes raid others’ inventions for parts, and they can be a nuisance if they mistake your toaster or smartphone for another’s creation and dismantle it.
Damastrophe- Scrap Robot Pokémon
Type- Steel
Ability- Light Metal/Technician/Motor Drive (Hidden)
Evolves from Widgix when levelled up in the Bazile Junkyard.
Damastrophe roam junkyards, collecting scrap to build their nests. Their technical skill is much greater than that of Widgix, and they can build complex machines out of anything lying around. Unfortunately, they’re still territorial and will destroy rivals’ creations on sight. Rumour has it that one of them once built a perpetual motion machine, but it was taken apart by another Damastrophe before it could be studied.
Jalopig- Engine Pokémon
Type- Fire/Steel
Ability- Speed Boost/Motor Drive/Slow Start (Hidden)
Jalopig spend most of their time racing each other through the streets of big cities in Novrai. They take a while to get going, but they can end up charging at speeds of over 120km/h. Anything in their way is simply run over. Trainers are advised to take caution when training these Pokémon, because they pose a serious danger not just to those around them, but themselves as well.
Hotrog- Engine Pokémon
Type- Fire/Steel
Ability- Speed Boost/Motor Drive/Light Metal (Hidden)
Evolves from Jalopig at level 37.
Hotrog racing is a widely-beloved sport in Novrai, where multiple competitors get their Hotrog to charge down a curved track as fast as they can. Hotrog themselves are naturally competitive and race each other in the wild, but unlike in the wild where they can severely injure themselves and others in collisions, Hotrog races are closely monitored to ensure no one is hurt. In battle, they crash into foes with enough force to send them flying.
Not today’s Inktober, but I got inspired.
Tockalypse- Timekeeper Pokémon
Type- Ghost
Ability- Own Tempo/Motor Drive/Synchronize (Hidden)
Tockalypse slowly rotate their arms in a circular pattern, making a soft ticking sound as they do so. Due to their ghostly nature and preferred habitat of run-down, abandoned houses, many say that they’re counting down to a horrific event. If two of them meet, they will speed up or slow down their arms until they’re perfectly in sync with each other.
Impendulum- Timekeeper Pokémon
Type- Ghost
Ability- Own Tempo/Motor Drive/Synchronize (Hidden)
Evolves from Tockalypse at level 30.
Care must be taken when entering areas where Impendulum live. They have a very short temper for intruders, and if you anger one, it is liable to grab you with its singular hand and hurl you back in time to before you entered its habitat. Every hour on the hour, they release a loud chime to scare away any invaders. Those who mistreat their Impendulum seem to grow old at a much faster rate, while those who treat them with love and respect are said to stay young forever.
Day 3 of Blue’s Spooky October Art Challenge- Mechanical Parts
Widgix- Scrap Metal Pokémon
Type- Steel
Ability- Light Metal/Technician/Motor Drive (Hidden)
Widgix are odd Pokémon that are attracted to broken pieces of machinery. Though they love tinkering around with circuitry, they must be monitored carefully by their Trainers, lest they electrocute themselves. Their true origins have long been lost, but some say they were created by a thoroughly exhausted engineer who wanted to build something that would fix their creations for them so that they could finally get some sleep, some sweet, sweet sleep, they haven’t slept in five days and they swear they can hear the colour purple.
Damastrophe- Junkyard Pokémon
Type- Steel
Ability- Light Metal/Technician/Motor Drive (Hidden)
Evolves from Widgix at level 33.
Damastrophe can be seen roaming landfills and junkyards, experimentally picking up pieces of scrap metal and adding it to their bodies. They often experience glitches or break down without warning, so Trainers must take care to ensure they’re healthy. They are high-maintenance because of their unreliability, but they can be a godsend in the right hands- their analytical, logical minds let them quickly and accurately pinpoint flaws in code. Just make sure you make a backup first, lest something go wrong while they’re reading it and it ends up getting wiped.
Light Metal works differently in Novrai. In addition to halving the user’s weight, it gives them a 25% boost to Speed, but a 10% reduction to Defense.
Yes, not all the things I draw for this challenge will be new. In this case, I would normally just link the original posts for Widgix and Damastrophe, but they got a significant flavour overhaul and design change in Damastrophe’s case, so I rewrote everything instead.
Widgix- Scrap Metal Pokémon
Type- Steel
Ability- Heatproof/Technician/Motor Drive (Hidden)
Widgix are curious little Pokémon that tend to gravitate towards complex machinery, particularly if that machinery is broken. Using their vast set of tools consisting of a nail, a paper clip, and a broken chain, Widgix will try their best to reassemble anything that is broken. Sadly, more often than not, they only end up making the problem worse, and occasionally end up needing reparations themselves. Mechanics find them a nuisance because they may attempt to “fix” machinery that isn’t actually broken and stop it from working, but some find them charming and capture them to make sure they don’t hurt themselves.
