I sometimes think about Sam watching Bucky get a motorcycle in Delacroix. Sam seeing Bucky not letting AJ and Cass near it despite the two using their best sad puppy dog eyes at him. Bucky folds a bit, lets them at least look at it, sure, but Sam sees Bucky telling the boys he'll teach them how to ride when they're older maybe (though, Bucky will tell Sam later that the idea terrifies him because what if he gets them hurt).
Sam uses his truck less with Bucky's motorcycle around. Not like Bucky has much of a schedule at the moment. He sort of becomes Sam's chauffeur. Bucky making sure both he and Sam are in the proper attire for riding a motorcycle every time, making sure the helmet fits perfectly on Sam, fusses a bit as he asks if Sam remembers all the motorcycle safety protocols he told Sam (Sam always smiling and fake-groaning about it, tells Bucky "I know what to do, Bucky, stop worrying").
Sam getting on behind Bucky his arms holding Bucky's waist tightly, legs near Bucky's, the skin between jacket and gloves (because Bucky insists on as much protection as possible) feeling the movement of the leather jacket Bucky wears as he controls the motorcycle, Sam always feeling a warmth growing in himself from being able to just hold Bucky close in public without people questioning it.
Sam gets why Bucky likes riding a motorcycle. Sam loves the speed of it all, the wind on them, how it feels more personal to be on a motorcycle than in a car, how it reminds Sam of flying. But he also understands that there's an element of control that Bucky likes from it; that it's his actions that move the bike, that it's all his choices.
And sometimes Bucky is just driving him to where Sam needs to go; an Avengers meeting, the VA offices, the store to pick up something small, a school nearby where Sam's giving a presentation as Captain America.
And sometimes it's just him and Bucky and an open road. Just taking a ride together. No words. Just wind. And speed. And Sam being able to hold Bucky close. And those are probably some of Sam's favorite times on Bucky's motorcycle.
