The Lost River Range in central Idaho is the state’s tallest mountain range. Idaho’s tallest peak, Mount Borah, is a fairly easy climb compared to other western state high points. In addition to Mount Borah, several peaks in the Lost River Range are above 12,000 feet. While Borah can be crowded on summer days, the area surrounding the mountain is wild and desolate. The area reminds me of Mordor (if you are a Lord of the Rings fan). This photo was taken on one of my treks up Borah.
