Mackenzie thinks Kat is pretty cool. The girl finding someone she actually likes outside of her family is a rarity. They share some common interests--anyone who is a fan of Shakespeare and crime scenes is instantly cool to Mackenzie--and there's a danger that Kat just sort of emenates that Mackenzie is drawn to and curious about. She's heard the rumors about Kat possibly killing people, which she's sure is just the rumor mill getting a bit out of hand, but even if it isn't it's not going to scare Mackenzie off. Especially since Kat seems okay with Mackenzie. So she hopes that means she won't be a victim, if that is true.
