My comp (technically, it’s a company hardware - as I need it to do craft drafting for my mother’s company) which I got in 2013 - exactly 4 years ago (before, I had a used computer from 2003. So, I used a computer that was 10 years outdated. It was hell using it during CS college when I had to use it for both CAD drafting and running virtual machines for school. It was way too slow for it, especially that I didn’t know about lightweight Linux distros back then. Then in 2013, my power supply has died. I just got sketches to draft and I was left without a comp. It was Friday evening. So, I was left without a computer, the used computers company I usually bought computers in was closed on Saturday, so we needed a computer quickly, so we got the cheapest comp available in a mall. So, thanks to weekend I ended up with a low end modern comp to use and work on instead of something from 2007.) just got outdated thanks to people who are liberal with memory use in web design and application design. Thanks guys! I still remember when Firefox with tens of tabs would take up 128mb of RAM!

It was already awful with Doctor Racket and now the new Firefox update came out and besides breaking lots of extensions, also introduced multi-process thingie and now Firefox with next to no tabs loaded takes up 2GB thanks to webcontent processes wasting 300mb for I have no idea what each. With some tabs opened it quickly gets 3GB or more. So, I now need to have 4GB ram for bare minimum functionality, forget about Dr Racket, music player, CAD, etc. because it will stall very fast.

So, the comp will get an upgrade. I already went with my mother to used computer store and it turned out that RAM can be ordered from their web store. I got more HDDs, though because my HDD is chronically low on disk space and half of it is occupied by the sacred legacy of Randy Stair.

I bought two used 320GB HDDs to make a RAID 1 backup drive array. Bougt two SATA cables for it. It’s amazing how cheap that stuff is nowadays. The drives costed 60pln .RAM will be another 50pln. At this point, multiple HDDs can be used as backup media. I’d prefer bluray but I can’t afford a burner :/ .

Turned out my PC is super-crappy and there’s place for only one HDD and that there’s only one SATA power source cable which is already occupied (WTF?!!!?). Also, there are only two RAM slots, so I can’t put in 2 additional RAM sticks, so for now I can only have 4 GB more.

After doing some research, it turned out I have to buy a Molex -> SATA cable. Also, unfortunately, my power source is on list of unreliable power sources that tend to burn computers. So, if the judgement day will go well and it will turn out I’ll have future, I’ll have to talk with my mother about buying something safe. It would cost much more than the upgrade itself, though.

Anyway, I ordered the RAM and the cable and that was it for now.

Today, I had problems with comp. Graphics card has shut down twice when trying to play ArmA and it gave off hot computer smell. At 3 a.m. I opened the case and it turned out that the graphics card fan was so clogged that it stopped. I wiped some dust motes from the case and moved the fan a bit with a pen until some motes fell out and it started spinning again.

WTF. A year ago I cleaned the fans and oiled the graphics card fan because the comp got horribly noisy and it wasn’t anywhere as clogged despite not being cleaned for 3 years.

Will have to more thoroughly clean it when the RAM and the cable will arrive.

An example problem of being a diminutive indigo rodent.

For example playing one’s favourite game which is skill-based but mouse is awkward and keeps losing.

Mouse got this game recently some time after watching this video in January.

Mouse had trouble getting into it initially because of having to get to the planet core until it discovered crafting.

Mouse likes playing this game now. It’s kinda cute and has interesting places to explore.

The mechanics are rather simplistic. For example one can tunnels without worrying about causing collapse, use furnaces and fires without concern for fire safety and ventilation. Which is kinda lame.

So, yeah, my mind became a scrapyard full of tanks, weapons, combat tactics and other ghoulish things like that.

It just gives a massive energy bust boost but on the other hand makes me fell feel kinda sick and overexcited. Must be because of using Ne and Te a lot in a way that gives me a lot of energy from Ne and using tertiary Te doesn’t curb it.

To make things worse, my somatic symptoms got worse. Including getting migraine and my insomnia worsening resulting in me constantly under-sleeping.

Was thinking about a fantasy setting in which war wouldn’t be repugnant - for example as a kind of hell populated by ableist normies being punished for their inhumanity. Like there would be cities but there wouldn’t be civilians in them, everyone would be military, etc.

I probably should be a game designer after all XD . Just not do all the banal shit boring programming stuff.

Perhaps I should learn pixel art and making other non-code assets?

Got into Armored Brigade again. Weird to return to my old mods. I don’t remember what the organization tables were supposed to be.

The organization seems to be weird - I think the US armour organization somewhat follows the WWI French from the Renault FT era. Or perhaps something else altogether because there are APC-type rhomboid tanks and FTs are called gunboats.

I guess the mechanized infantry APC-type tanks are infantry and rhomboid tanks act as support weapons because they are in batteries.

I dug this mod out because I wanted some subject for a website.

It’s a very dark and depressing hobby.

A nice thing about physical thingies like figurines...

Is that they remind mouse about the game.

Nowadays, mouse often has problems playing games.

Mouse has the Torment figurine standing on its desk.

It played Torment a bit today.

A little indigo mouse is playing a new game - Opus Magnum.

It was made by the people who made TIS-100 and Shengen I/O.

It’s basically a game about designing and programming robots that are supposed to assemble a specific alchemical product.

Mouse did three designs today. On fourth it completely forgot that it needs to put all the stuff into bonding thingie before putting it onto finished product thingie.

The game is very exhausting for the mouse. Perhaps it uses mainly Extroverted Thinking.

A little indigo mouse has played Space Hulk Ascension for two hours today. (mouse didn’t feel well today, so it didn’t study much - only about 20 minutes) It won the first mission and lost the second one. Mouse gave helmets to all its terminators.

Mouse feels a bit better after playing all the games.

Mouse has found the idea of camera quite neat. It thinks it would be neat to have a simple 3D window in Project Purity.

It reminded mouse of C64 game Hostages:

Which also had some interesting views.

Maybe it could even allow a sort of multi-level view.

The 3D window could be shaped in a way that would provide rather accurate simulation of field of view and it could be used for targeting purposes, perhaps.
