Other mice that didn't make the joust
I had more than 48 mice to choose from, but ultimately not all of them could make it in, either due to space, already having a really close character in the running, or due to not really being a mouse.
But I still would like to give the submissions that didn't make it in some love, so here they are below for anyone interested.
Tournament Tracker and Bracket
[Image ID: There are four images. The first on the top left is a complete image of a 48 character bracket, with many brackets on left and right combining into brackets until there is only one space for a name in the middle. Character names are written in boxes along the brackets in italics except for in the center. The second image on the top right shows the winner of the Mouse Joust, the Wooden Mouse, looking up at a golden mouse trophy. The third image on the bottom left shows the second place winners, Pinky and the Brain, with the Brain holding up the silver trophy while Pinky looks happily at him. The final image on the bottom right shows Reepicheep, the third place winner, standing atop the bronze trophy. /.End ID]
The Mouse Joust has reached its conclusion! Our final results:
First Place: Wooden Mouse
Second Place: Pinky and the Brain
Third Place: Reepicheep
Fourth Place: Mrs. Frisby/Brisby

You can also use the tag: #mousejoust character list
This post was updated to be referencing wherever we were in the tournament, and also lists results from each round. I will pin this post, as well as use the tag #mousejoust tracker for this post only.

Just a note ahead of time: descriptions for characters will probably be a combo of people's actual submitted descriptions and ones that I wrote up. Most likely, I'll end up putting stuff that other people said in quotes so you'll know where I shoehorned my own descriptions in.
Honorable Mention: Contour Unimouse
HONORABLE MOUSE MENTION: Contour Unimouse, from “my desk at work (real life)”
Submission description: this mouse saves my life every day. it lets me click endlessly on teams windows and excel sheets while keeping my wrist in an ergonomic vertical angle. the mouse is quite big so it's comfortable to hold and you can adjust the place where you want your thumb to rest. i may or may not have taken it home with me for a weekend or two and turns out it works really well for gaming too. i have not had wrist pains from being too long in front of a computer since the mouse entered my life. also the charge lasts a really long time.
I loved this submission but, well... not quite the kind of mouse I was looking for. But it was still really fun to see it in the list with the rest of the mice! So before the tournament started, I had to include it in its own post.
Mouse Joust List
Hi everyone!
I’ve put together the list of mice participating in this tournament. There will be 48 mice competing!
I’ll be posting the bracket itself separately, along with what matchups you should expect to see first and when.
Without further ado, under the Keep Reading is our list of competitors, ordered alphabetically:
Thank you everyone for your mouse submissions so far! ❤️🐁
The submission deadline for the Mouse Joust will be: Wednesday, April 26, 9:00 PM UTC. (check what time this is for you here: https://savvytime.com/converter/utc/apr-26-2023/9pm)
Some notes on how the tournament will go:
I will look through everyone's lovely submissions and determine a list of mice for the tournament. Some mice might not make it to the tournament, since there could be too many mice to include, or the mouse might not quite fit my mouse criteria (sorry).
This tournament is not planned to be a seeded bracket, since it would be hard for me to properly determine how to rank these mice ahead of the mouse-ranking tournament. It won't be completely random, though! I will be looking through submissions, doing research, and matching characters up through similar themes or context.
Once I've determined those match-ups, I'll post who our competitors are, as well as when the first round will begin!
Each match-up will last a week, but multiple match-ups will be posted at the same time. More info on that closer to when the event actually starts, though.
Are mice-human character allowed? (For example, a character is humanoid in form but has mouse ears and a tail).
Hello! Thank you for the ask!
My instinctive response is leaning towards "no", but I think it depends on the context. I would say "yes" if they are able to turn into more of a mouse-looking mouse, or even if the character is ever referred to as a mouse in the original context.
