What if the original Penn Station was rebuilt? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On October 4, architects, urbanists, and designers met in NYC to discuss rebuilding the original Penn Station. Rebuild Penn Station, a project of the National Civic Art Society, is the brainchild of Richard W. Cameron, principal designer at Atelier & Co., and one of the original founders of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. Rebuilding Penn Station will involve a three-stage development process which carefully takes into account the economic and technical feasibility of the restored Penn Station. The plan would rebuild the beaux-arts structure that was demolished to make way for Madison Square Garden in the sixties while creating a modern high-tech transit hub connecting subway lines, LIRR and Amtrak. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤷♀️ Should the original Penn Station be rebuilt? Is this even a realistic proposal? Comment below!
