“is there something you need to tell me?” (Akane to Gai)
Gai sighed, wondering how to bring up what he wanted to say as he rubbed the back of his neck. An uncharacteristically nervous gesture from the typically loud teenager that boldly declared Kakashi as his eternal rival.
"Akane, I wanted to talk to you about something that's been on my mind for a while. Obito's passing was an accident, and I know that Kakashi hasn't been able to fully let it go. I know you feel a responsibility to him, but is it fair for you to both live in the past for an accident?" he asked as he pulled out a single flower, silently hoping that she understood the gesture.
"I would like to help you move on, but only when you're ready..." he whispered, hoping that she didn't completely reject him
