It’s good to know what the structure of a thing is and how to construct and proportion things right, but it also means that you have to push past the impulse to get every detail right in order to capture the overall feel of what you’re trying to convey without losing it in pursuit of photographic detail.

It's been about a year since Firth and Hinata moved in, and imagine our surprise when they told us they were expecting! It's very exciting. It makes me a little sad knowing I will get to know my grandchildren, but you never got that chance Momma. But it'll be fine. I'll just make sure they know how much I love them.

Firth is getting married!! He proposed this weekend. He and Hinata are moving back in next month once Firth finishes up everything he needs for graduation. I'm excited to have him home. It's just Lavaka here now, everyone else is moved out. It's surreal to think soon the house will be bustling again with activity. It's been so calm here lately.

Mom and Dad,

I'm so sorry to tell you, but Delta passed away. Sterling and I found him after we came back from a walk. All the kids were gone thankfully to school. The authorities say it was probably a heart attack. Delta has always seemed so much larger than life, that it hurt so much to see him look so small. His girls came home for the funeral, but their relationship has never been very good, so they didn't stay long.

I love all of you so very much. There's so few of us left now; just Brook and I. It feels so surreal. I've never been so tired.

Happy New Year Mom and Dad!

About 6 months late, sorry. It's summer here, and Tor and Spring are just about to enter the last year of high school. They're doing very well, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Firth is still in college, working on a double major now so he can eventually become an astronaut! Delta, even though he's retired now, is showing him some tricks when he comes home. Firth is also dating Hinata now! She's a lovely girl, and I dote on her.

Firth came home for Christmas! It was such a joy to see him again. Phone calls and letters just aren't the same, as I'm sure you know. He wouldn't stop talking about this girl, Hinata, that he'd met. I'm excited to meet her as well! Hopefully she treats him well.

I've settled down at Foxbury. My roommates are weird. I just wanted to let you know I'm doing okay. the classes are hard, but they're fun.

I'll write again when I can. Mom, the photos I sent are for Grandma; I know you like to tell her about us.

I'm going to miss my baby so much.

He's off to Foxbury Institute now, to pursue his dreams of being an astronomer. He's been a giant help the last few weeks before he left, which I appreciated, but I think most of all, I'm going to miss his smile when he's gone.

You two were really lucky I think, that we all stayed at home to do our schooling. Firth doesn't wan the distractions, so he's headed to campus housing. Britechester has never seemed so far.
