Didn’t Expect This — MOYA Studio Just Got Shortlisted
Building a product sounds exciting at first, but once you actually get into it, things start getting complicated pretty quickly.
You begin with an idea, something you really believe in. But then you realise you need a designer, someone to create samples, then manufacturers… and somehow everything has to stay aligned. That’s usually where things start to feel overwhelming, especially for first-time founders.
That’s the space MOYA Studio has been working in.
Instead of splitting everything into different steps handled by different people, the focus has been on keeping things more connected — from the first idea to the final product. Not perfect, but definitely more manageable.
Recently, something happened that we honestly didn’t expect.
MOYA Studio got shortlisted as a finalist at the UK Startup Awards 2026 in the Creative Startup of the Year category.
It’s one of those moments where you just pause for a second.
Not just because of the recognition, but because it reflects the kind of work that usually stays behind the scenes. A lot of what goes into building a product isn’t visible. It’s problem-solving, fixing what doesn’t work, and slowly turning an idea into something real.
A lot of people entering this space today aren’t from the industry. They just have ideas they care about. But without a clear process, it’s easy to get stuck — going back and forth, making changes, and still not seeing progress.
Over time, it becomes clear that the biggest issue isn’t effort.
Trying to simplify that has been the whole focus.
The shortlist doesn’t change the work, but it does feel like a small sign that things are moving in the right direction.
Still a long way to go, but yeah… this one felt worth sharing.
