I finally had the chance to watch MP and after watching the full movie [not just scenes I'd seen or info I knew] I dislike Marion even more than before. Yes Tom made some mistakes but he mostly did what he did bc he was scared and was just trying to survive as a gay man in the 50s. We see anyone who gets found out to be gay goes to jail or is K worded and Tom just didnt want that happening to himself!
Marion on the other hand she was pretty much told by Tom's sister from the beginning that he isn't into women but she still went after him and then the minute she gets conformation he's with Patrick Marion turns Patrick in. She then has the audacity to go visit him in jail acting as if she's on his side and is a friend as if she wasn't the reason he got sent to jail.
And then the scene with Marion and her friend where she rants about Patrick being a "s**ual predator" and how wrong it is for him to be around Tom and how she can "fix Tom" was 😵💫. The friend defends Tom and Patrick and the minute she admits she to has a secret gay partner Marion no longer sees her as a friend and looks at her different. I'm sorry but who's defending Marion here ???
