Mp3 Experiment 15 in Brooklyn Bridge Park by Improv Everywhere Tara and I participated in this years mp3 experiment by improv everywhere. It involved a TON of people, a lot of noise and awkwardness, and a lot of laughs.

Day 110 or The Mp3 Experiment

Friday September 18, 2015  

Today is a day that will go down in history as the day my life was forever changed.

The mp3 experiment was so much fun! I went to Brooklyn library and explored her wares. It’s a really beautiful library! Gorgeous. It looks bigger on the outside though. I hung out there until it was about time for the experiment to begin. It was cool walking to Prospect Park and seeing all of the people who were clearly going to the event. Of course when you get there the point was to seem as inconspicuous as possible but you are walking in with a mob of people. Yeah, you’re here for the experiment. 

The experiment was basically one big game of Simon Says only there were no punishments if you did something that Simon didn’t say to do. We did vocal warm ups, ran across the field, played red light green light, then did it in reverse, played tag. We even performed a light show for a plane passing by. UGH! It was so much fun just being connected for an hour with complete strangers. Laughing, dancing (there was a mini rave), light saber fighting, ghost busting. It was great and I really REALLY hope I get to participate in something like this in the future. After the experiment I went to meet my soon to be soulmate.

Maya Kouassi is the coolest, raddest, bestest person that I have ever met. And I think I may be saying this because she is me. Only younger, skinnier, and not from North Carolina. She’s a communications major, working at a non-profit, with aspirations and goals to go to law school in three years and become a lawyer. She’s a libra, loves Shonda, and has a passion for others. She is literally the best thing ever and I’ve come to this conclusion after knowing her for a grand total of maybe 3 hours.

Da anni ormai a New York a settembre si svolge l'mp3 experiment. Migliaia di persone ai ritrovano in un posto all'aperto e si esibiscono in una serie di gesti più o meno strani sotto la guida di una voce registrata su un fil mp3. L'operazione è organizzata da Improv Everywhere e il risultato finale lo potete vedere in questo video. Buona visione!

Ogni anno da 11 anni a questa parte a New York quelli di Improv Everywhere organizzano The MP3 Experiment. Centinaia di persone si radunano in un punto della città (solitamente un parco) e si mettono a eseguire delle azioni indicate da un file mp3 precedentemente scaricato. Le azioni in questioni sono singolari (gonfiare palloncini colorati, dare il cinque ai passanti ecc ecc). L'operazione è probabilmente molto più divertente da fare che non da vedere. Ma il riassunto video, come per gli altri anni, non è affatto male! Buona visione!
