Run. Run. Run. A woman sprints hastily down the sidewalks of a new city. Her new home. Surrounded by clouded skies and wet concrete Shiah takes in the scenery of unfamiliar places she has still yet to become accustomed to — familiar with. Life was suddenly overwhelmingly busy since she’d arrived on the island among the gods. Settling into a new place, certainly, was no easy task for a girl who depended so much on the comforts of routine and familiarity,
. Moving fast, she appears to be a speck among the sea of people who litter the streets of Mount Phoniex. An array of colors flashing among the various faces in which she weaves in and out of. And, only to make matters worse, a pair of cheapishly bought earphones cascade down her frame and into the comforts of an oversized hoodie’s pocket. Making it’s self at home where her phone belongs ━ only bringing a new source of chaos to lighten up her world as upbeat music softly thrums within her ears. Ultimately, making her point of view upon her little universe that of a haphazard mess as she sprints past a sea of strangers.
Shiah doesn’t mind it, however. And, instead, she welcomes the hectic point of view as it is the only solace she has as the realization that she’s running late dawns upon her. She had told her mother that she’d be home at two, ready to call her, to flip on the tv and begin discussing the drama they had planned on watching together. To make commentary over the phone in an attempt to create the illusion that they were watching it together. As if Shiah never left home. Looking at the watch that ticks upon her wrist, she can’t help the guilt that overcomes her. The overwhelming greyish purple which pulls at her heartstrings makes her feel uneasy. Though she knew her mother wouldn’t be upset, She can’t stop herself from feeling disappointed in herself.
Yet, those feelings are quickly forgotten and it’s the sudden impact of her small frame colliding against another which has Shiah sent into an abrupt halt. An earbud falling from her ear as she finds her face smashed against a strangers chest. It’s sudden. Embarrassing.
Almost instantaneously, her cheeks began to heat up as she retreats from the unexpected contact. Taking a few steps back, she looks to the other in concern. ❝ oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. ❞ she apologizes with a sheepish smile. Eyes examining the other, as she looks to him in a brief attempt to make sure he’s okay. ❝ I guess I should really watch where I’m going, ❞ the girl half-jokes with a gentle sigh. However, her smiles is quick to falter. It’s something that catches her off guard, on the floor between them, that sends delicate features into an expression that lies somewhere between confusion and suspicion.
Silent.
She raises a brow in the male’s direction. Almost, as if asking, what’s that?
