mother and son | kibum&inari
Kibum scanned the different items in the market, his free hand that didn’t have the bag, clutching his phone. Hakyeon had sent him out with a list, it was his turn to do the shopping. In the past year of living at Mount Phoenix, he couldn’t help but muse on how much of his life had seemed to change. Back in London, it was nonstop fighting with his family and even after learning that he had a godly parent, he never thought that he would close to them or any of his half-siblings and yet here he was, sharing an apartment with his brother.
His mother on the other hand, was a completely different story. He knew who she was, of course, but he’d never thought about approaching her. Even with them living in the same apartment building. He’d never had a great relationship with his father and her wife so he was skeptical, he didn’t know any other kind of parent-child relationship. He wasn’t sure if Inari would end up like the woman who’d raised him and he wasn’t ready to enter that kind of destructive relationship. The opposite scenario scared him as well, what if she liked him but he couldn’t connect with her?
Frowning at his thoughts as he looked over the various fruits, he barely noticed the other people around him, too caught up in himself, as usual. Briefly, he wondered if he’d ever truly get the courage to go find the woman before he was shaking his head, determined to not think about it anymore.
