stepping briefly into whatever you call urinetown tumblr to say that in the production i did tech for a few years ago (which is how i got into this musical), one choice our director made that i haven't seen in other shows was to have hope's "BOBBY STRONG?!" moment right before don't be the bunny be a whole joke. like because of all the faxing (and copying) our hope would be holding a GIANT stack of papers during this scene and she would drop the whole stack onto the floor out of shock on the delivery of that line. the thing is that she was standing at the top of a small staircase with cladwell for this line. so during one performance she went "BOBBY STRONG?!?!?!?!?!" and dropped the papers as planned... but like 20 of them went down the stairs. and the plan for this bit was ALREADY that lockstock, barrel, cladwell, pennywise, mcqueen, and fipp would stop to stare at her for a second before moving along. so this time. they all turned to her. and she just very slowly crouched down and had to lean down the staircase and start scooping up the papers. in utter silence. save for our director laughing his ass off in the back of the audience.

🌟NEOGLAMROCK PRESENTS: « MR MCQUEEN INTERVIEW WITH @_TOKYOLUCKYHOLE_ »
As a new, 100% glamrock, sparkling and bleeding (literally!) of creative madness, music video was recently released by a fab trio of Tokyo Lucky Hole, we decided to get to know the artists’ master plan behind the work⚡️ If you have not seen “Mr. McQueen” yet, be prepared to re-watch it at least hundred of times, digging every little detail about it...;) Big thanks to @clayfuller for kindly answering the questions☄️
=Hello, Darlings! Congratulations on your debut music video "Mr. McQueen" - completely mind-blowing. Watched it at least fifty times, hehe...
For those who have not yet seen it, could you describe it in two words?
⭐️:Thank you very much. Put simply, it can be categorized as an Acid Western short film with lots of glitter and ultraviolence.
=And what about the characters? Extremely glam, would love to see their backstories in the future!
⭐️:It was so much fun playing characters for the film. We transformed into a gang of delinquent disco cowboys. I played the nonchalant Clint Eastwood-like leader of the pack. Ben played the goofball and Russell played the maniac. The music video depicts the mischief that these bandits get themselves into.
=The clothes were amazing. Did it take long to make the looks? Are there secret glamrock designers working for you?
⭐️:Thank you. Most of the clothes came from mine and my brother’s closets. We wanted extreme clothing that nobody in their right mind would normally wear in their everyday life. The articles were customized by our wardrobe stylist Sadie Drucker (secret glam rock designer) who brilliantly made our clothes even more unique and bizarre.
=I felt the music-video itself had a kind of Tarantino surreal vibe. Who inspired you for "Mr. McQueen"?
⭐️:Inspiration for the music video came from classic spaghetti western films as well as Japanese culture. However, the intro to the song was an idea that came to me when I was in middle school after watching Pulp Fiction for the first time. I used to sing in faux-Spanish over the chord progression, as if serenading a lover, at our bassist Russell's house to make him laugh. So I think it would be accurate to say that I’ve been inspired by the cinematic music in Tarantino films.
=What was your favourite scene while filming?
⭐️:The wildest night was filming in a bar which was turned into a drag queen brothel. We arrived to film at 3 am after the bar closed. Our friend, who happened to be the bartender, was pouring us real drinks and getting the band very drunk. Our drummer Ben actually fell off of his stool, and luckily it was captured on camera and can be seen in the video.
=If you were to continue the adventures of the glammy criminals, what would they be?
⭐️: According to our writer/director, if the music video continued, we’d see the band battle a Texas Chainsaw Massacre serial killer and eventually become surrounded by the police at a desolate 7-11 in Tokyo.
=Last but not least... Who is the MR MCQUEEN?!.. I hope the FBI is not reading this.............
⭐️: In the song’s narrative, Mr. McQueen is a fictitious antihero who has a reputation as a real ladykiller. He was inspired by Steve McQueen and was dreamt up by my brother & music video director Blaine Fuller.
=Thank you so much for spending time with us!!! Really looking forward to your new acid hits, see you soon!
⭐️: Thank you! We’re announcing new music soon on our website at tokyoluckyhole.net
