Mr. Satō from Ajin: Demi Human

Korrasami Week, Day 7: Family
It was everything you'd expect a prison to be. Grey walls, clanking, steel bars, dim lights. Asami hated it here. She stepped forward through the throngs of people bustling back and forth, coughing slightly on cigarette smoke and the smell of sweat. "Busy day for visiting, I guess," she thinks to herself.
A distinguished looking gentleman with greying hair and glasses, sporting drab prison attire and handcuffs is sitting at a table in the back corner of the room. He smiles sadly when he sees his little girl. He doesn't deserve for her to visit, even as rarely as she does, and he knows it. Every time he sees her, he remembers their mech battle. Standing over her after she'd fallen, wound up and ready to... deliver the last blow. He tries hard to push the unforgivable act from his mind.
"Hello, Asami," he smiles at her as she approaches.
"Hi dad..." she stops about five feet from the table and looks at him. She remembers too. But she finishes her excrutiating, 20-foot journey and sits accross the table from him.
"So... Ah... How's my lovely daughter-in-law?"
"Korra's... Korra's good."
"Good, good... No pi sho today?"
"No... Today's for something else. Maybe next week."
Mr. Sato's face lights up at the thought of her visiting again so soon.
Quite unexpectedly, Asami takes her father's hand in her own. "I love you, dad..."
A tear wells in his eye, and Asami looks away slightly to hide the tears in her own. "I don't deserve it. And I don't know if you can believe me, but I love you too."
"I know, dad. That's why I'm here. 'Cause I do love you, and I thought you'd want to meet your granddaughter." She looks up into her father's elated eyes and a tear of strength traces her cheek. She turns toward the door and beckons.
Korra steps through the thinning wave of visitors and prisoners from the door to the table with the broadest, most proud smile a mother could have. In her arms is a bitty, little Earth Kingdom girl. "Would you like to hold her?" Korra asks.
Mr. Sato nods, speechlessly grinning and weeping. Despite his cuffs, he wraps his arms protectively around his precious granddaughter the moment Korra lays her in his arms.
With a giggle and a smile, the baby wraps a hand as tightly as she can around her granddad's index finger.
Asami wipes away what is a flood of tears now, rises, and hugs her father. Forgiveness floods through her and flows into him. "Baby Toph has spoken. You really have changed."
