m0lloys asked: * it’s not my fault, it’s 4am and you’re fucking yelling at me!
YELLING ? Is that what he calls it. No, he was simply being truthful & his voice was rising over the typical soft tone he talked in. How ELSE was he going to get it through the others thick stupid skull of the facts behind Ramadan. The whole goal behind it was obvious --- but apparently, such a man hadn’t a clue. It didn’t matter the TIME, for as long as it was dark, Armand was usually awake. ❝ Ramadan ends in a festival called Eid-al-Fitr, I THOUGHT maybe you would of known that, Mr. Journalist. That is ALSO known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast. Muslims celebrate & give thanks for the strength Allah imparted in them during fasting. . . . . & yes, that’s from everything. food, drink, smoking . . . sexual activity. EVERYTHING. Not just your little festival of giving thanks to some colonial white men. ❞
Hmm...Interesting Updates In The US Anime Industry!
Well, just one as far as I'm concerned.
After holding onto the Detective Conan license for so long (even after stating multiple times that they will not be bringing more DC to the States), Funimation has asked the Detective Conan Translation Project (DCTP) to cease and desist subbing DC episodes from here on out.
This is odd because, as I mention above, Funimation has gone on record plenty of times (their events coordinator has taken to asking congoers to refrain from asking for more DC episodes at Funimation panels, for crying out loud!), and hasn't shown any signs of wanting to resume releasing more of the show any time in the near future.
This might be pointing to the possibility that Funimation is about to indeed resume production on dubbed DC episodes. Hopefully, they retool the dub cast, and stick to the original character names; given the way they've handled things like FMA: Brotherhood and One Piece (and Initial D, I guess), I think they'll put a lot of effort into any sort of redub process that needs to be done.
I'll be very interested to see what these guys have to announce at their Otakon panel late next month...perhaps I'll put on the Mr. Journalist hat and start looking for scoops! (Scoops! Scoops Haagen-Daas!)
