Hi! I know a lot of people have finals this week, and a friend of mine wanted to give y’all a message
This is my friend Mr. Lion. He loves you, and wants you to remember some things for him:
~hydrate! You don’t have to drink 8 cups of water every day, and it doesn’t even have to be water, but make sure you drink at least a little something every day.
~eat! Eating gives you energy and helps your brain and stuff. You’re gonna do a lot better on tests if you get 3 good meals a day. But if you can’t get 3 good meals? If you don’t have time to get a better breakfast besides a granola bar or something? If your school lunch sucks and you’d rather just have that snack a friend shared with you? If you don’t have the stuff for a good dinner and so you just have some cereal or something? That’s okay! Even if it’s not what you consider a good meal, it’s still eating! And it’ll still help!
~sleep! Mr. Lion knows there are a lot of distractions out there, and that people have insomnia and ADHD and other stuff that makes it hard to fall asleep, and that some people will want to stay up all night cramming for tests. But if you’re a crammer/distracted by all the interesting things out there, set yourself an alarm and make yourself go to bed once it goes off. And if you can’t sleep, still lay there! Closing your eyes and resting is going to help more than scrolling around on the internet. And getting some sleep - especially 7-8 hours, but if you can’t get that much, for whatever reason, that’s okay - is going to be a ginormous help on your tests.
~you’re doing your best! Maybe not your best ever, but still your best at the time. Oh, but if you’d paid more attention then you would’ve actually known the stuff in class? if you’d gotten to sleep last night you wouldn’t be trying not to fall asleep now? if you weren’t such a screw-up maybe you’d do better? Mr. Lion doesn’t want to hear any of that(especially that last one. That one’s wrong). He knows that at the time you’re taking your test, you’re going to try your hardest, and you’re going to do the best you can do.
~Mr. Lion is proud of you! So proud! You got a low score on your tests? Still proud. You missed what in hindsight was a really easy question? Still proud. You only managed to eat/sleep/hydrate a little bit? Still proud. You didn’t manage to eat/sleep/hydrate? Still. Proud. You can’t make him not proud of you. It’s just not gonna happen.
~you’re gonna get through this! It’s only a week or two and then you’re done! It might feel like forever, but it will come to an end. It’s gonna be okay.
