I remember as a kid I didn't like Mr.Rodgers because I didn't believe any of the nice things he said about me. I didn't enjoy watching the show because I thought he was talking down to me, lying about perfectly good things to tell a child.
I was so used to being told the opposite I immediately distrusted anyone who would be that kind to me without even knowing me.
