Jesse had matured in two years. He wondered if that was before or after Overwatch fell. Had he just not noticed the changes, too embroiled in the shitstorm over the years? Could be. He’d missed a lot in the months leading up to the Swiss Base.

His visor scanned the environment. Going through the checklist in his head had become automatic whenever entering new areas. Have a $10 million bounty on your head made you cautious. The area was as dull as expected. The reports of movements from the old base were sketchy, but he knew to not underestimate small issues like this. Could be nothing, but the prospect of it being a product of this new wave of omnic uprising or Talon was enough of a concern that they weren’t letting it go.

“Clear.” He grunted through the mask as he moved forward. Pulse rifle was lowered, but ready for action the minute there was any sign of danger.

Jack normally locked his doors religiously. He was as prepared as he ever could be, and the truth of it was, he did so partially because of the concern he had for attackers, and partially because privacy was something he’d come to cherish in the years since Overwatch. Even now, he locked it whether he was in for the night or just a few hours. Time to himself in a bed that wasn’t rocks or cement was something to be attached to indeed. That, and he had two years’ worth of sleep to catch up on.

He didn’t so much as forget to lock it as the lock just plain didn’t work sometimes. Gibraltar was an old base, and fixing the internal locks hadn’t been as important as the security on the outside. No one really complained yet. The few unknowns had proven to be trustworthy and too embroiled in their work to bother with someone else’s door, and if someone broke into Gibraltar and went for Jack’s room, they were more worried about the intruder than Jack. He slept like a cat and was just as quick to attack. However, he had a pulse rifle, not claws.

This time, however, he was freshly showered with a towel on his damp neck and wandering back to a fresh set of kevlar and pants when the door popped open. His head snapped to look at the intruder to see McCree. The man seemed mid-word when the fact that Jack was absolutely 100% still damp and naked seemed to catch up with him.

“Er.. Hey McCree.” Years of Communal showers with a dozen other men in his unit left him not so burdened by the idea of being seen naked. What was musculature and scars to people who had the same thing? “Need something?”

   The grounds of the old grave yard, littered in death and decay. Abandoned in lot, the dead lay forgotten, but the caretaker never forgets how they died. Old children’s tales play on the thought of a hunting, a wanderer, that soaked the grounds in blood long before the coming era of today. Radiation blamed for the illusions people have seen of bright glowing eyes and the roar of a tiger underneath the grounds. Talon had sent their best men to the sight, believing it was more than just stories. Reaper had been one, yet even in his infamous ways, he could not locate the creature of myth.     They said the creature protected those of the dead, family perhaps, or it was remorse for their own sins. Whatever it had been, it was enough to catch the ever lasting eye of the Talon as well as Overwatch. Winston had his eye on the sight, analyzing and studying it until he was certain it wasn’t just a myth. He had believed it was someone worth looking into. It had been enough for Talon to try and snatch up, it would be worth it for them.

   The graves rattled, a small clicking sound of what appeared to be a walking stick, hitting the ground. A cloaked figure, walking down the overground pathways of the damned. A hit of blue, glowing under the large hood that draped over their head. It wasn’t enough to tell, if this was the being left to be found, or if it was a simple old man attempting his last respects to the fallen. None the less, the figure wanted up to the large statue of a fallen solider in a war the history books had little record of. The figure stopped, leaning onto the walking staff and continued to stand in silence.     Not even a grasshopper to sound.    A hand slowly moved out from the cloak, it looked young, smooth. It twisted palm up and small dragonfly like creatures spawned out circling the statue. It cleared it over the weeds, dirt, and muck. Even though the cracks and broken pieces could not be repaired, it was still as beautiful as the day it had been placed.     One of the dragonflies broke away from the path, spreading it’s wings out into the grave yard as if it had known someone would be near by. It fluttered against the control of it’s master through the air, blinking every so often until it rested on a headstone of a carved out sleeping dragon. It would stay there, waiting patiently.
