So I've been doing some delving into the Dictionnaire Infernal and the Lesser Key of Solomon, and I'm interested in Shax, since I've never heard of him-- but neither actually talk about his appearance so far. Do you know of any resources that do?

So @blacksmith-ornifex​ and @mrdingle​ wanted to hear about Suzan Strange and Ornifex wanted to hear about Ivar Veith too. So here we go.

Suzan Strange grew up as a part of the School of Mensis in Yahar’gul. She was given the name Strange due to her heterochroma. A very intelligent girl at a young age, Suzan was very analytical and was taught to pursue truth through logic and reason. As such, she showed signs of potential within the School. But she was quite young when the School attempted to commune with Murgo and were sucked into the Nightmare of Mensis, thus escaping the same fate as most of her colleagues. Suzan fled and survived as a street rat until she found her way to Hemwic Charnel Lane where she was taken in by the witches. They taught her of the Great Ones and the existence of a world beyond their own. After she grew older, Suzan returned to Yahar’gul and there she found her Amygdalan Arm. She took to it quite thoroughly and as it seemed to her to be still living in some shape or form, she developed a habit of talking to it. The search for the truth about what the Hemwic Witches told her of the Great Ones and the disappearance of the School of Mensis led her to Yharnam on the night of the hunt, which is where her adventure as a hunter begins. After defeating Rom and witnissing the rise of the Paleblood Moon, a special Eye opened in Suzan’s brain, giving her the gift of foresight (the ability to see a short distance into the future), but this cost Suzan her sight as a result. Even with her new disability, Suzan continued searching for the truth and, thanks to her power of foresight, was still a very effective hunter, with the help of her (possibly) living weapon. Suzan would be one of the few to transcend the hunt to become a Great One herself at the end of the Hunt. 

She speaks very technically and matter-of-factly. I liken it to how Peridot from Steven Universe talks. About 5′2″, 150 lbs.

Ivar Veith used to live in a small village somewhere outside Yharnam. A very tall and burly man, Ivar made a living as a woodsman and game hunter and provided fresh meat for his village. He was always a man of very few words and harsh exterior and was taught never to back down from a fight. But his life turned a corner when an altercation with several traveling men ended with Ivar beating two of them to death outside of the village tavern. When put to trial, Ivar gave no word in his own defense and was banished from his village, leading him to Yharnam on the night of the hunt. Ivar took to life as a hunter just as easily as breathing, though maybe too well. After awaking from the transfusion, Ivar killed the wolf beast waiting at the entrance with his bare hands. Upon entering Old Yharnam, Ivar climbed the great clock tower and killed the Old Hunter Durja without a second thought, taking the Steak Driver and tossing away the Hunter’s Axe that was given to him by the Messengers. As he traveled through the nightmare of the hunt, Ivar became more and more vicious and bloodthirsty. Finally, he found his way to the Hunter’s Nightmare, teetering on the edge of madness and blooddrunkedness. This is where his story splits in two directions. In the first, Ivar succumbs to the beast inside and becomes another beast himself, doomed to the hell of the nightmare (BAD END). But the second, Ivar’s will holds out until he finds Laurance’s skull and defeats the First Vicar, unlocking the Beast’s Embrace rune, allowing him to tame the beast inside, turning him into a darkbeast-human hybrid, surviving the hunt as a vicious hunter of both beasts and kin alike (GOOD END). 

Ivar stands at 6′4″ weighing 230 lbs. His voice is deep and gravelly, speaking short and succinctly.
