One of our favorite holiday events…the Christmas party hosted by Decatur Church of Christ with Santa! Garrett looks forward to this time with the church, Lane and Santa. He was very animated in telling Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Obviously, Santa got his letter, he knew exactly what gifts Garrett wanted. My dates last night to the annual Decatur Parks Special Olympic Thanksgiving dinner. Mr Lane led the prayer which was so sweet, but it was the conversations going, while there and heading home that I love. One was finished up after Lane told a joke about Christmas and we all laughed: Garrett: Lane, I love your comedy act. Lane: It’s what I do. Garrett: You have good English Language too. Lane: it’s important to good English (pause), especially good Alabama English. I can’t get enough of these two. When your child is born with a special needs situation and grows up bringing in one diagnosis after another, it lingers in the back of your mind, “Will he ever have a best friend? Will he be able to develop that kind of relationship?” Then these two found each other.
