Well, Akira Toriyama based her pretty casual ship-wear on Sigourney Weaver's outfit from the 1979 Alien movie! That absolute staple in American cinema was a hit worldwide, and totally influenced Bulma! And what an influence it is! Ellen Ripley was such an awesome character and Weaver shattered Hollywood's glass ceiling! 💖💖💖 So anyway, here's a cuter version of what Bulma was actually like on the ship! Haha!
