LOOKING GOOD
You know you shouldn't be staring, but it's just so hard not to.
This morning, you almost burnt your hand with still brewing coffee because Theo decided to chop wood at the ass crack of dawn. Then, you stumbled with a hand full of plates right after he gave you a smile while walking by.
To get your head straight, you decided to get out of camp and do some laundry by the river. Like a curse, Theo picked the exact damn time to take a quick bath in the exact same river.
You watch him take off his shirt as if he's only doing it for your benefit. Then he wades into the stream, the water rising up and drenching his pants, making the fabric cling to places of his body you better not think about.
Looking up, you find Theo opening up the band of his hair. He's constantly getting teased for its length, but he takes it with humor, and you're sure he never even considered to cut it. It falls down in barely-there waves over his shoulders, giving you the urge to run your fingers through it or maybe even hold on to it, depending on the situation.
Theo bends over, presenting not only his cute ass to you but also the muscles of his back, stretching under the skin as he scoops up water. You wish you could scratch your nails down the smooth skin before pinching the perky cheeks underneath.
Then, Theo turns over, throwing the water at his chest. His nipples perk up from the cold, accentuating his broad chest. Your eyes follow down a line of hair that goes all the way down over his stomach, growing a little thicker before disappearing in his pants. You imagine kissing along that line while your hands roam over every inch of Theo's full torso.
Looking at him, you can never decide if you would want to have his huge hands holding you in place while you ride him shamelessly or rather be buried under this perfect array of strong hot muscles, being unable to move while he pins you down to have his way with you.
"Oh honey, you really need to take a break once in a while," a sweet voice says next to. "You make us all look bad with the work you do."
You look up to find Sylvia standing next to you. She smiles with that spark in her eyes that always makes your stomach do a little summersault.
"I'll be done soon," you say, hoping that Sylvia can't see the blush you feel sneaking onto your cheeks.
"Good, you should join me then," she says, her fingers trailing over your shoulder in a barely-there touch that leaves goosebumps on your skin. Butterflies erupt in your tummy and take flight throughout your whole body, tingling in every toe and fingertip.
You watch Sylvia as she heads down to the river, a spring in her step. She's never been timid, so she gets rid of her dress by the shore, wading into the water in just her chemise while shouting a quick hello to Theo.
Sighing deeply, you try to get back to work. Theo is bad enough, but adding Sylvia to the mix is plain torture. You can never say who you like more, but neither of them is any good for your blood pressure.
Despite fighting it, you end up sneaking glances over to Sylvia again and again. Her chemise is soaked with water by now, clinging to her curvy frame, droplets of water dancing on her dark hair, making it shine even more than usual from the afternoon sun.
It makes you think of brushing it, maybe burying your face in the locks and breathe in her scent before you kiss down the smooth skin of her neck, nibbling along the shoulder while your hands might wander down on her front, teasing her breasts while she leans into you.
"You should just make a move already," a deep voice grunts beside you. "On either of them. Doesn't really matter."
You're so shocked, you drop the shirt you still haven't finished washing. Arthur is standing next to you, popping a cigarette into his mouth while tilting his head so that his hat can fend off the bright sun.
"What?" you ask, quickly picking up the shirt.
Arthur takes his time to light the cigarette, your heart pounding as you wait for his answer. Somehow you're afraid that you won't like it.
"I'd have a hard time picking myself, so I get it," Arthur says, blowing away smoke and looking over to Sylvia and Theo, "but one is better than neither."
"It's not- I don't-" you stumble, but it's futile to deny your affection after you just couldn't stop staring. You sigh deeply. "Not like I have a shot either way."
Arthur was about to take another drag of his cigarette but stops his hand halfway to his mouth, looking at you with raised brows.
"You think so?" he asks, surprise in his voice.
You shrug, staring into the ground, too embarrassed to even look at Arthur. Theo and Sylvia are not your biggest problem. You've had a crush on Arthur ever since you first met, and the only reason you tried to move on is your certainty that he could never like you the same way.
"Hey," Arthur says, and you can't help but look up at him. He smiles, giving your chin a quick brush with his fingers. "I wouldn't say no to you, darlin’. Don't see why either of them should. Just give it a go."
He winks at you before walking away, leaving you with a heart that's about to burst and more butterflies than ever. You stare after Arthur until you hear voices shout your name from the river. Both Sylvia and Theo are waving at you, beckoning you to join them in the water.
The sun is warm on your skin, lifting a weight from your soul. Today could only get better if it was your birthday.
Theo grabbed a carrot out of his satchel and fed it to Lydia, he cooed at the large Shire as they made there way back home through tall trees. Suddenly he spotted a red haired woman on the side of the road tending to her injured horse. "Uh I'm sorry ta bother ya miss but are ya doin alright?"
Eleanor looked up when she heard the sound of a mans voice, tears were streaming down her face as she sniffled. Wiping her nose and mouth against her sleeve. Despite her blurring eyes from her tears, she could see that this was a rather tall and broad man. But his voice was gentle and concerned.
“M-my horse” she gasped, gesturing to the injured hoof and cut on her leg. “My Freyja, she’s hurt a-and I don’t know what to do.” She took in a shuddering breath.
“I-is there a vet or someone that can help, please?” she pleaded with the man.
