Mobile Week Day 4 Round Up

A day to focus on a very important topic: Retail.

How many of you shop on your phone? If you're not shopping, you're most likely show-rooming or researching a product. Mobile Commerce is a very important category of the week.

In addition to this presentation, we challenged the agency to test drive retail shopping related apps, ranging from favorite store apps, retail sites, and other shopping related apps. Here's what we found:

Poshmark

A retail site and app where you browse through user’s “closets”. They submit images of items they have for sale! They also hold retail parties where you’re able to securely check out and buy directly from your phone.

NYC Sample Sales App

Perk: If you need to kill some time in NYC the map is a nice discovery tool to discover sample sales near you.

Con: It mixes in regular store sales and you cannot filter those out.

What if you could collect payment within a single input on mobile? With this site, you can.

Apple Store by Apple

When you’re on the go, the Apple Store app is the best way to research, personalize, and buy products from Apple. You can also use it to make Genius Bar and workshop reservations at the Apple Store. And it’s also the easiest way to get a new iPhone — right from your current iPhone.

MRY Mobile Week Day 3 Round Up

We hosted an amazing Vine-A-Thon with loads of great videos! Check them out on our Vine!

A tough day getting back to the office after a fun day at Camp, but Wednesday's focus was on Curation.

The team that focused on Curation in the office, in light of the category, curated everyone's favorite apps and hashtags in a Google Doc.

MRY Mobile Week Day 2 Round Up

Day 2 of Mobile Week was spent at camp in South Kent, CT!

Mostly everyone in the agency took a bus up to Club Getaway for outdoor adventures and bonding.

If the photos aren't enough proof, we had an amazing time!

Some great apps to use when traveling, but need something to do?

Foursquare: Explore.

This app has a common misconception that it's only for checking in, but if that's all you use it for, you're missing out! Try clicking "search nearby" on the app, and let the exploring begin!

Viator: Be a tourist.

Find attractions nearby, or plan a trip in a foreign place - all on your phone!

MRY Mobile Week Day 1 Round Up

Google came in a schooled us in the future of Mobile, they even made us tear up with a touching video on Google hangouts. (Thank you Tim Reiss!)

In light of the theme, here are some of the Entertainment Core Team's favorite apps they think you ought to know about:

weotta - Helps you find fun stuff to do based on when, where, and what you're planning.

archetype me - Finds content based on your personality type, Jungian!

fan duel - Fantasy sports betting site that lets you create leagues based on specific teams for as short as just one day.

Amazon Auto Rip - Amazon is giving you mp3 versions of every CD you purchased from them since 1998. Seriously.

Roadtrippers - Plots the quickest route between two points, but adds a corridor in which to discover history, nature, attractions, entertainment, and more.

GIF SHOP - Make some GIFs, why don't you?

KeyMe - Never get locked out of your house again. Unless you lock your iPhone in your house, in which case, you're screwed.

Rdio- Listen to your favorite jams, anywhere.

Action Movie FX  - Add Hollywood FX to iPhone AND iPad movies that YOU shoot! Spielburg, watch out!

Disney infinity - Add Disney characters into your photos and make it seem like they were there IRL!

Pulse - News, anywhere, anytime.

Flipboard - Curate, read, collect your favorite news stories.

Flow Free - Probably the most addicting game (second to Candy Crush, duh)

Candy Crush - One word: Beware! Highly addictive. Okay, make that three words.

Temple Run - RUN! And find treasure, a fun game for anyone.

Beat Sneak Bandit - This may be the only rhythm stealth game with a sweet classical animation style

Spaceteam - is a party game that works on iOS and Android devices.  It gets you, and some friends, to yell various techno-babble at each other while trying to save your spaceship.

Dark Sky - is an amazing weather app. You can even set it to notify you a few minutes before it starts raining!

Hype Machine - Probably the best music app for music addicts - discover new (good) music, listen offline, and stream all on your mobile device.

After Light - Once you've used this app, you'll never post an unedited photo again. Best way to beautify photos.
