Curtis brothers looks/genetics headcanons

Darry-

Looks the most like their dad, same gray-blue eyes but with a hint of green from their mom, the exact same hair as Darrel Sr., in color and texture, and the same basic build too; he has his mom's nose, though, and her smile.

Soda-

A mix of his parents to the point of not looking directly like either of them, similar face shape to his dad when he was younger but still pretty different, he’s got his mom's hair even if it’s a little dirtier, his eyes are the real mystery though (as someone who headcanons him as having blue eyes), their mom had green eyes, their dad’s were a dull grey-blue, and then Soda has these bright blue eyes that no one can figure out where they came from.

Pony-

I like to think he looks the most like their mom, same laugh, similar face shape, same nose and smile too; his figure is more similar to one of her brothers (another headcanon that Ms Curtis had/has a big family) than to their dad, the only thing he really got from their dad was the hint of grey in his eyes and his hair color, but even then it’s lighter and warmer than Darrel Sr.’s and a closer hue to their mom’s.

curtis grandmother hcs bc mine is extremely unwell and i'm sad

she's french

her mother was born in paris and lived there her entire life and her father was born in bordeaux before he moved to paris in search of a new and bigger life

they met and had the curtis' grandmother and four more children

she is fluent in english, french n german although she speaks with a heavy accent and doesn't care to speak in anything but french

met her husband while on holiday in marseilles and they moved to paris and settled down in a small but happy flat

she was an actress and partly a model but never cared for fame

they had four children, a boy, a girl and then another boy and finally ms curtis, being the youngest

their other girl died young which led to the family being quite protective of ms curtis

her eldest son died while fighting in wwii as he refused to go to america with them

her next son also died quite young while spying for the americans in france during the war as he was fluent in french and would be unsuspected

she had bright green eyes, reddish blonde hair and plenty of freckles

while we know that soda looked alot like his mother and darry looked like his father, pony didnt look like either of them really but he was basically a carbon copy of his grandmother

she smoked, and its a miracle she lived as long as she did with how often she smoke

pony gets his smoking addiction from her lol

she's really witty and sarcastic and always had a comment to spare under her breath ab someone or something

she adores the curtis kids as they're her only grandchildren but especially loves pony bc she can see his potential and herself in him

he learned french to communicate with her and as a result of this, he's now fluent in french

okok n i have a reason for my french hc, so say the outsiders is set in 1965, and pony is fourteen, soda is sixteen and darry is twenty. imma use darry for my example bc he's the oldest simply

this means darry would've been born in 1945, and personally i hc that ms curtis had darry when she was young, lets say twenty too

this means she would've been born in 1925, which would've made her fourteen at the time of wwii breaking out in europe, which plays a big part in my explanation

her, ms curtis, family upon seeing tensions rise in the late 30s in france decide to emmigrate to america to take shelter for the inevitable conflict to come

if she met mr curtis in her late teens and settled down fast, maybe she got pregnant out of wedlock and they married quickly? then this could be a reasonable explanation for my hc

before their parents died sodapop had already talked to their mom about not really feeling like a boy 100% of the time. she was accepting and often saved old dresses/feminine clothes for them to wear in the house. it was a nice bonding time to do/talk about more girly things. it helped soda feel better on their more feminine days and ms. curtis enjoyed the time where it felt like she had a daughter. sodapop was planning to come out to their father as well just before the car wreck

I don't know if the fandom named Mrs. Curtis something, but to me, her name seems to be June. I don't know why. I guess it sounds like something sweet and warm and it reminds me of the colour of her hair. And well, it's known that Mr. Curtis's name is Darrel, so... That's canon, right? Idk
