█ ▌       — “You seem to like that one.” 

           Sen approached the girl who was standing in front of a shelf of new brands of tea for a while, immersed in reading the back of each package. The older woman would’ve left her if it wasn’t for the fact she has been waiting for fifteen minutes for the girl to move. The shop was one of the best tea shops in the city, the tea prices varied so people from different financial backgrounds frequented the shop. Visiting the place was quite the experience especially with all the aromas of the different types of brewed teas.  Some people were there to enjoy a cup of tea and some light snacks while others were there to buy their own tea and brew it at home.    I n h e r i t e d          S c a r s

                                                        “Who could love you more?”

       The robe dropped, exposing the fair skin of the tall woman standing in front of the mirror and staring at her reflection. Her eyes shined with an amabigious look that spoke volumes of mixed emotions; anger, determination, sadness, and more. Slick fingers ran over the smooth semi-wet skin with the utmost care as if the touch could cause more pain and damage than the sharpest knives. 

      Her eyes were not studying her look or body shape, they were looking through the mirror into the tape of memories playing the beginning of the journey, the darkest pit of the madame’s mind and core. 

                                   “You are loveable. You deserve all the best.”

       The woman spoke loud enough to hear herself as if to make sure the sound from her past could hear her response. Her body jerked unannounced, and she had to wrap her arms around her figure to keep herself still. It has been over twenty years since that ominous day, but the memory was fresh as if it only happened a couple of hours ago. Her body remembered the pain of that night and the nine months that followed it. It remembered the rainy night her body brought another life into existence. 

       She swore not to cry. She was a woman who kept her promises, no matter how gruesome those memories were, she never let a single tear see the light. 

                                                                            “It’s a girl.”

                                                “She deserves better.                                                                                      Better than this. Better than me.”
