Ms. Codex 1572 - Graduale
This manuscript is a complete portable gradual with chants for the Mass according to the Use of Brixen (now Bressanone), possibly from a Benedictine monastic foundation. The temporal and sanctoral cycles are combined, followed by texts and music for the Common of Saints; then there are sequences for major feasts, beginning with Christmas and including the feast of Saints Albuinus and Ingenuinus. There are many signs of use over time, including textual and musical marginal notes, additions or alterations of rubrics, erasures, and repairs to the vellum leaves. The front pastedown has the Credo, Gloria, and Da pacem Domine written on it, around 1400 CE; the back pastedown has a Marian text on a fragment from a 13th-century Italian missal or gradual.
