1. Pick one: Landscapes or Portraits? Explain why.
• Landscapes. To look at and to draw myself. I don't really know. There's something about nature that is so fascinating and pure and I love seeing it. And paintings of landscapes..they are never quite like the original because the feelings and thoughts of the person drawing them is always somewhere in there. So, when the artist is happy, the colors are bright. If he is sad or angry, it's dull. Also there's always the aspect of whether people see something different than I do, that gets me a lot. So I love paintings. But a landscape painting can never quite capture nature as fantastic as it is. And that's a good thing. There are certain things in life, you will have to see with your own eyes to truly see its beauty.
2. What planet would you prefer to live on if Earth ever died, and why?
• Saturn. I would dance at the edge of the ring, somewhere between sanity and madness. I don't know. Something about this thought seems quite comforting.
3. A childhood habit that you can never seem to get rid of.
• When I am mad, I throw stuff or kick stuff or punch a wall. Did it as a kid, still doing it now.
4. Write the first four thoughts that come into your mind when you read this sentence: ’ When we go, the vultures will feed on them; And fire will come around, and we’ll be young again.’
• Cleansing, the end of the world, rebirth, beauty in destruction? I don't know. My mind is a really weird place.
5. Do you prefer elegance or edginess in your clothes?
• To be honest, I wear what I want. I don't really know whether it's edgy or elegant. It is, first and foremost, who I am.
6. Your favourite pizza toppings.
• Oh Jesus Christ! Erm. Self-made Pizza with tomato sauce, paprika, champignons, onions, tomatoes, salami, ham and a whole lot of cheese. I also like tuna pizza or anything with mozarella, really.
7. When was the last time you stood up for yourself and felt you did the right thing?
• A few years ago, I learned that, not standing up for yourself is stupid. Ever since then, I always spoke my mind. Even if it doesn't seem like the right thing to do. But you are you and you shouldn't be ashamed for any of your actions because at one point, it seemed like the right thing to do. And the past is the past, there's nothing you can do about it. Accept what you do and stand behind it, even if it's hard sometimes.
8. If you were stranded in a hot desert, parched with thirst, and came across a cup of warm water, and a bottle of cool water, which one would you choose?
• Of course the obvious answer would be the cold bottle of water. But that's just a human impulse because it serves immediate freshness. But due to the coldness, your body wants to compensate the temperature, so to compensate the coolness inside, the body heat turns up and you are left feeling even hotter than before drinking. So I'd maybe take the cup of warm water. But then again, it's a bottle of cold water and only a cup of warm water. I don't really know. I'd probably be too drained to think and head for the bottle.
9. What is the one activity that calms you down entirely, no matter how many times you do it? If you don’t have one, which one would you like it to be?
• Anything creative. When I'm really sad or angry, I draw or write. The concentration and the joy of creation always put me into a neutral mood again and afterwards, I feel like I have done something good, so I feel good.
10. Blondes or brunettes?
• No matter who, it has to fir their appearance. There are a lot of people that look horrible with dyed blonde hair and there are people, that would look horrible with brown hair. Like myself. Because I am blonde and sooo so pale, I would look like a corpse. It has to fit look, personality and attitude. That's what I think, at least.
11. Would you listen to a flashy pop song if it had well-written lyrics with good meaning?
• I like some flashy pop songs with good lyrics. There can be a rock song with the most amazing riffs or break downs or whatever, but If I can't relate to the lyrics or they don't make any kind of sense to me, I won't listen to that song. Same goes with pop music. Same with any kind of music. I don't actually like that whole 'genre' thinking.
I'm not going to tag anyone because I don't feel like I can find any questions that are as interesting and thoughtful than these ones. Thanks for making me think a little :)
