Faina studied Natasha’s face looking for any indication of trickery or deceit. Though she knew the woman would be well-trained in concealing her tells, she wanted to find something to indicate that the words were untrue. 

She was accustomed to weaving through webs of deceit to determine the meaning behind the lies. She was not accustomed to truth.

Sequestered in an underground bunker, Sannikova's work in cyber-espionage, virus and trojan coding, kept her out of the field. That is, until Natasha Romanoff discovered the teenage girl on her own mission.

The streetlights were on by the time Faina got off the subway in Brooklyn. She paused for a moment, hand pressed to a lamp post as she grit her teeth through a wave of pain. Whatever Doom's minions had done, put something in the muscle of her stomach, she was not sure what but it hurt like hell to move. And the freshly inked wound on her face was itching and burning.

She kept her hoodie up, covering her face as she pushed onward to Natasha's apartment. Even with SHIELD tracking her, somehow Doom had managed to take her out of the city without triggering any alarms; did the organization even know she had been gone? This needed to end but she was not going to be able to do it alone.

Finally, she pulled herself up the stairs to Natasha's door and rang the bell.

Today marks one year since I started RPing Faina and I want to thank everyone who has put up with her being rude and reckless for the last year. This day was one year since ms-romanov discovered Faina in a red room facility in Siberia. Generally Feb 3rd is the day I first started interacting with others on this account. Feb 3rd is her unofficial 18th birthday. So... I may possibly do something to celebrate that

[ News from Rome comes slower than they would like. Twice already, there have been close calls avoided only by an alert sentry. With the emperor's price on her head, she feels the weight of the near clashes heavily. But she knows how good her warriors are. They've bested the Romans time and again--stopped their advance into towns that would otherwise have been decimated. With every victory, Cara knows she and her kin gain both friends and enemies. Even those under Roman rule who wish themselves free fear her tactics. For every attempt at putting down the rebellion, the Romans receive a village of their own pillaged and burned to the ground. Fighting fire with fire. 

She can hear the celebrations not far away, smell the smoke from the fires and the sickly sweet stench of wine on the air. Footsteps crunch lightly and she turns, her hand falling to the dagger at her waist. When she speaks her voice is joking, almost self-deprecating. ]

"What--you don't fancy the party? Haven't you heard we've got our blade in the emperor's side?"

[No it's not fandom specific and yes it's the Roman empire. I'll add in some details in the starter.]
