Caroline had been tossing and turning all night, not able to find a comfortable position for her growing belly. Finally giving up with a loud sigh, she turned her head slightly to look at the clock. The red lightly glowed brightly in the pitch black room, 5:36. She was craving ice cream once again, with the whole works. Turning her head the other direction, she watched as Klaus slept silently next to her. It'd been a few years since all of the drama finally stopped. After Caroline knew her friends would be safe, that's when she chose to give into the emotions she'd been denying for the longest time. Meeting up with Klaus had been one of the best choices she'd ever made, he was her soul mate, and Caroline couldn't help but hate that she couldn't realize that sooner. "Klaus-- wake up sleepy head." She whispered, nudging him in the side. When he didn't budge, she shook him a little harder, hoping he'd go to the store for her without an argument. "Caroline?" He groggily whispered, turning to look at her. "Love, are you okay? Is the baby okay?" Klaus asked quickly, wanting to make sure he took care of Caroline and their child. Smiling softly, Caroline shook her head, signalling that everything was fine. "The baby is fine, Klaus." She replied softly, a faint smile on her lips. "Then why have you woken me at this ungodly hour?" He questioned with a small frown. "I'm craving some ice cream." Caroline simply stated, like it was a normal thing for her to crave so early. "You're craving ice cream." Klaus repeated, sitting up in their bed. "Sweetheart, there is plenty of your favorite in the freezer." Biting her bottom lip, Caroline looked up at Klaus innocently. "Um-- not exactly. I sort of ate it all and now I need more." Klaus couldn't help but shake his head at the statement. "Of course you bloody ate it all." His attitude never really affected Caroline anymore, she merely ignored it most of the time. "I want some so will you go get it please? I've been tossing and turning all night, and you know how sleepy I get after I indulge myself." Klaus couldn't do anything except stare at the love of his entire existence. He knew the moment he saw her that day in Mystic Falls that she was someone special, that because of her, he would change and that is was okay. Laughter escaped his lips as he continued to look at the mother of his future child. Hearing Klaus laugh, Caroline couldn't help but hit his arm with a small laugh of her own. "Don't you dare laugh at me Nik. It's all your fault I'm like this-- so just go get me my ice cream." He raised an eyebrow at the statement she had just made. "All my fault?" He questioned. "Darling, I seem to remember you shaking with pleasure as you screamed my name." He whispered as he leaned in closer to her. "What do I get in return for making a trip to the market so bloody early?" He asked, never one to give in. Caroline should have known that was coming, he always wanted something in return, most of the time it was sex but that wasn't something she was in the mood for lately. Thinking for a few moments, she grinned knowing exactly what she would be able to give him. "I'll let you paint me-- naked, just like you want, belly and all. You've been bugging me about it for weeks Nik, so do we have a deal?" She questioned, already knowing his answer. "Looks like I've taught you well, sweetheart. I shall return soon with what you've requested, until then do try to relax." Kissing her softly on her lips, Klaus slipped out of their bed and got ready, heading out of the room to the market. Laying back on her pillow, Caroline smiled knowing she made the right choice.
