shit, he was late.

insu didn’t mean to take a quick power nap in the library, but his book looked so comfy. he had re-read the entire chapter they were going to over in herbology next week. he loved being ahead in his herbology classes- they honestly made him feel less anxious about his future. if only he could pursue it was a career... that’d be nice.

when he did realize that he had overslept he immediately grabbed everything and practically shoved it into his black and gray backup before making a run to the dining hall. he didn’t even have time to message jaehwan about his tardiness as he just focused on running straight there. he had to dodge a few people in order to make sure that he got there in time but he was very happy to report that when he did bust through the door, he was able to go straight to jaehwan and practically tackle him, panting.

“hwannie! i’m so sorry i-i’m late, i,” he took in a deep breath, “fell asleep while studying!” he inhales again, “sorry, you didn’t wait long right?” he asked as he detached himself and eager plopped himself next to his same-age cousin. “i’m so sorry!”

Malia had never gone fishing before, but seeing as the activity was advertised to be more of the tranquil ones, she didn’t think it would hurt to give it a shot. Besides, seeing as the head of Toseong was organizing the event, she knew that her conscience would eventually eat away at her, feeling as if not going meant that she didn’t support her house. Following the familiar face of Professor Jung, Malia was in awe upon arrival. Even if she didn’t manage to catch anything, the pool of the universe was a sight for sore eyes.

Once receiving her own rod from the professor, Malia asked for the basics, but then left to find her own spot near the edge of the pond. She didn’t want to bother Professor Jung for the entirety of her time there, so she figured it would be best to just learn from example. As she watched the other students, she thought it best to approach an individual rather than groups of friends (feeling that option would be more comfortable). Despite her nerves, she did her best to project when speaking to the stranger.

“Hello, would it be alright if I joined you? I’m still a bit new to this.”

I’m having fun, I’m having fun, I’m having fun. The words repeat in his head for some reason he can’t explain, it’s like the words are just there, just there to fill in space, as if they’re taking the space of other words, as if the words won’t let other words come. They repeat, over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, it’s never ending, it doesn’t stop.

The young boy runs in the flower field, lets the flowers crash across his body and lets his small feet stomp on the stem of the flowers. There’s a wide smile across his lips, there’s no reason for it to be there, it just is there, for no reason in particular. Maybe it’s because of the shining sun, maybe it’s because of the beautiful flowers, maybe it’s because he knows his dear father is watching him in the distance, maybe the smile really does have no reason as to why it’s there.

“Wake up” Miso hears his father say the words as he taps on Miso’s shoulder. Miso looks confused and then Miso’s father taps on Miso’s shoulder again.

Miso opens his eyes in a second, was it all just a dream? Miso looks to the side to see who had awoken him, they’re at the bonfire, and Miso wonders why they woke him up, then suddenly he realizes something “Insu’s cousin?” he spits out.
