Talisman
Immortal, magical being unable to be killed by traditional means. Widely known by mortals for their ability to "reap" souls.
Maven
A Talisman in charge of an integral role in the Underworld. Often takes on apprentices.
Reaper
A Talisman whose "job" is to reap the souls of mortals whose time is up.
Apprentice
A Talisman devoted to the work of their chosen Maven. Their latent magical skills are often taken into account when choosing their path.
Ward
A Talisman in training to reap souls.
Tribute
Born over time from an [Item of Great Importance]. Shares the abilities and rights of a Talisman, but is dependent on Talisman magic for life.
Mortal
Being that can be incapacitated without Talisman interference.
Mage
A mortal being with magical prowess.
Human
A mortal being with a short lifespan; they typically lack magic in modern days, but many mages come from human lineage.
Blighted
Beings that Talismans refuse to reap.
Shade
A mage who, when mortal, underwent magical "improvements" in hopes of gaining immortality.
