When scholars and historians speak of the world’s great Buddhist temples, most conversations include Borobudur, which means monastery on the hill. Borobudur is the world’s largest Buddhist templeand is most famous for its many stone-carved panels depicting the life and teachings of Buddha. The narratives, over a thousand in all, are part of the temple itself, helping…

Day 34.
Mt.
Video from when we reached the top of the rim of Mt. Merapi, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. It was a difficult climb, which we started at 1am so that we could catch the sunrise from the top. When we finally made it, it was spectacular and kind of overwhelming.
Borobudur was impressive, but the views to Mt. Merapi and the landscape were amazing.
