to the puppet master, who's name i cannot recall...
remember me? im mina. a simple mouse. we have met before.
i believe we got off on the wrong foot. i was just a bit... well... off put by your craft is all. i have a very teeny tiny fear of dolls, or, puppets, in your case. those big beady eyes, those shrill giggles, that sense of uncanny. i never thought i would be turned into one... sort of.
but i can happily say it somewhat alleviated my fears. i have been trying to recall that old dance once more, unfortunately i ended up spraining my paw. i would come visit, but i would have to take another route. i'm not sure if you were aware, but baron lionel was not the man we (and he) swore he was. it was an entire fiasco i would prefer to not get into.
i told my friend thorne id be writing to you, so he'll alert me if you decide to write back.
with resolve,
Mina @hellohollower
Grinnsly looked down upon the letter, his name-befitting grin widening in delight. He beckoned one of his wisps to bring him some paper as he began to write down his response, humming to himself a bit as he did.

Dearest Mina,
Of course I remember you, how could I not? You’re not a forgettable face no, you’re one of the best marionettes I’ve ever had! Simple is a crude understatement of what you truly are!
The way you moved during our dance together was something I’ll never forget! To hear that you’ve tried to recall it on your own brings great joy to me! Should you seek me out and wish to learn it once more, I’ll be happy to pull your strings and guide you through the steps, you’re always welcome and safe with me.
As for how aware I am of the Baron’s lies, well a puppeteer can recognize another sooner than the puppets themselves, no matter how different their…crafts may be. I’m glad you’ve broken yourself free of his strings, people never wonder who pulls theirs until it’s too late and they unravel…
My dance, my strings, and my craft is something you are always free to experience. I am truthful in my words, you simply need to seek out one of my Poppits and I’ll take you down into my hollow. Always free to leave, always free to stay.
With great enthusiasm,
-Grinnsly

The letter was encased in an envelope held together not by a stamp, but by string. It was handed over to one of his wisps to carry it over to wherever his marionette may be. His excitement being barely contained as it left, to be able to dance with her again is something that he looks forward to.
