A TRIBUTE – NIGEL BARRETT 15th January 1969 – 27th October 2021 Always In Our Thoughts & Prayers Nigel, soft-spoken, sociable, and easy to work with. I met Nigel in 2014 weeks before the MTM Awards 2014. He was the kind of guy that let his lens do the talking. Soon he bonded with the MTM core team led by Junior Sheikh, alongside, Raffi, Judith, Emma, Joe, and Big Q, Nigel became the preferred photographer of the MTM Awards and was named chief Photographer in 2015. INigel Barrett has been into Photography for many years, always producing those magic moments that you want to cherish and remember. He approached his work with a unique perspective that takes into account his client’s needs and individual style, always broad and flexible, developed over years of training and experience. He was innovative and creative producing fresh, vibrant images that capture the essence of his subjects, from portraits and landscapes to still life and abstracts. He captured every moment when they evolve. He was ever so happy to invite clients to visit his conveniently located studio. He was gutted that he could not be at the MTM Awards 2020 held on the 31st of July 2021 due to poor health and COVID restrictions. We last chatted a week before he passed on, and sounding positive as always, he wrote, “ I am not too bad, thank you, still plodding along. Although I am on palliative end-of-life care, I am holding on. The doctors say it could be today, tomorrow, or anytime” I said to him that we will go see him soon, sadly it never happened, that was my last conversation with Nigel Barrett. We share some magic moments he captured with his Hawk-Eye lens. #BigQ “For me personally, the only way I can describe the #MTMs, Labels are for products, not people. MTM treats everybody as an equal. It also boosts confidence in people as well, as well as networking, and raises awareness for charity causes. But mainly because no matter who you are, or where you are from you are treated like family.” Nigel Barrett 2014 Funeral Thursday 18th November 2 pm at Weston Mill Crematorium Plymouth MTM AWARDS #10 & BEYOND!
