Muc-sheilche
A lake monster that is said to dwell in Loch Maree and several other Lochs. The only information I could find on it was that in the 1850s a man referred to as Mr Banks attempted to drain Loch-na-Bèiste (“Loch of the beast” Bèiste is sometimes translated to Turtle pig or slug pig) in an area near Aultbea which is a small fishing village located on Loch Ewe. Mr banks also attempted to poison the Loch with quicklime otherwise known as burnt lime or Calcium Oxide which is believed to be one of the ingredients used in Greek fire due to its ability to reach temperatures of 150 degrees Celsius on contact with water.
