heya! your "most people never even get a single high school rival" (the whole 3 part series actually, that part is just my favourite) is one of the best pieces of writing i've read in my life. i don't mean fics, i truly mean in general. the way you wrote the dialogue, the characterization, even the descriptions of the ocean... ah. an d the ending oh wow... just thank you for sharing your writing!! :)

LIES! LIES! You know exactly where the clay comes from, Mudboy! 

Per the episode commentary, whenever Dismas doesn’t know the answer to a question, he just dodge-rolls it. But this--I think this is a wombo-combo of feigning ignorance in order to dodge a question that he knows the answer to, but wants to appear as though he’s above possessing that knowledge. Upstairs don’t know what goes on Downstairs, and that makes them more Upstairs.

Which all makes me wonder how low the Mudeyes are on the Fringe ladder. I’ve been picturing them as weirdo reclusive artist-types, who would insist on harvesting their own clay because 1) they ain’t got slave money, and 2) you can’t just send some unskilled worker to go get “clay”, like there’s only one grade and variety of clay; clay is serious fucking business. But if clay harvesting is widely seen as a “slave job”, that would probably reflect poorly on them, like they’re a bunch of gross dirt people. So no wonder Dismas would want to distance himself from them--can’t Move On Up (to the South East side) if everyone thinks of you as some kind of ghetto trailer trash pig farmer.

He’s so New Money, it’s sad and adorable and I love it.

I saw someone asking about stimming and I always picked at my fingers or jiggled my legs or had auditory stims or whatever and it really, really bothered my dad, so he got me a charm bracelet and now I twist or feel the ridges on the charms. It's also great for school & places where you can't make any noise or to stop a stim that's harming you, such as scratching. Hope it's helpful, love your blog x
