interesting death march ahead
From 7/17 to 8/3 I will be working straight. tomorrow i head down to san diego for the interesting death march that is my job during comic-con. the work is interesting, the people are fascinating, and my internal fangirl silently freaks out, but the work is pretty much endless until sunday night and then I fly home and start back at work monday morning and keep going until 8/3 which is my vacation/parents annual visit. hopefully this time I will be let out of the work cage to go see the exhibition floor! I have a 2 hour respite on saturday evening as I was volunteered to do something super exciting/terrifying involving people i love/am terrified of... I can’t tell if I got the short straw or the long straw... i won’t be sure until it’s over. i’ve never been to comic-con on a non-work capacity, but it’s an odd tradeoff, as if I were going on a casual capacity i wouldn't be able to do all the things I get to do, but in a work capacity nothing is done for pleasure, only for output. gotta sneak the moments of fannish pleasure in there secretly. I hope to do that on saturday if I don’t die under the crushing weight of expectation and internal fangirl glee... i really hope I catch a glimpse of some Witcher or Black Panther cosplay... though i hope everyone stays hydrated!
