Posted @withregram • @vanderlaandthebarnyardzoo Barnyard Back story #6 A mule named Leroy. Leroy came to the farm November 5 2016 . I saw pictures of him but when he was delivered to the farm. I was like his pictures don’t do him justice he is way bigger and even more handsome in person . I have to thank my farrier Brandi for seeing the ad that Leroy was in and suggesting that our petting zoo would be a good home for Leroy. Leroy was 11 when he came. He was looking for a home where he wouldn’t be ask to do much as he has stress fractures and can not be worked ,not many people want an animal this big that really is just a lawn ornament. Leroy’s story is that he was rescued from the meat truck, Kim his rescuer ask what I wanted Leroy for. I said his job here would be a hang his head over the fence and welcome visitors. He really is good at his new job. With Leroy being so big ( he likely eats the same amount as 4 or 5 of my other donkeys ) We feel we have been fortunate that Leroy found us. Well ok maybe not on the days we have to trim the friendly giant, It really is a huge job. That’s when I thank my lucky stars that Brandi can’t say anything as she is the reason Leroy reside at our place. He really has become a star , likely almost all visitors have a picture with him. He really has become a fan favourite and I think he knows it. Leroy is huge -A mule is a cross between a horse and a donkey. Leroy is off a Mammoth donkey ( which is the largest donkey) and a percheron horse ( a work horse ). Leroy is the welcoming committee for the farm, he will be posing for pictures and seeing how many cones he can eat when the petting zoo opens up for season 13th Last 5 pictures are when Leroy first come here . #barnyardbackstory #rescue #leroyourgiantmule #muleofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CMdRSynlWe5/?igshid=q26grcimv61e
