A slap was one word for it. Coming from Turithys, it was more like a punch, and she grabbed the oars out of Amon’s reach as well.

‘Aye. I couldn’t resist the beard.’ Haaki gave Amon a long, flat, and singularly unimpressed stare. ‘No. I just wanted to know where you were docked. No innuendo intended.’

The Redguard looked up from his tankard toward the unfamiliar voice, and despite the clear confusion in his eyes, he still offered the Khajiit a smile.

“Questions, huh?” Amon repeated, sitting back in his seat so he could better look up (very much up, by gods how tall was this Khajiit?) at the stranger. He motioned toward the chair across from himself, offering the Khajiit a seat should he wish to sit. 

“I am an open book, my friend. Ask away and I shall try to answer to the best of my abilities.”

It had been a hard voyage, a long first night ashore, and a lot of mead. By this point it didn’t much matter to Vilayn who was holding their arms out towards him, not as long as he was able to collapse into them. He was already half-asleep by the time he thumped against Amon’s chest, although he did manage to mumble, before his brain switched off entirely,

‘Yes please.’

“It’s too cold out here.”

‘Finally!’

After maintaining a stony silence for some time, Trond finally stopped patting his hands together and stamping his feet in the snow long enough to smack Amon on the shoulder.

‘A man who sees sense! I ought to take you to the commander. I’ve been telling him for ages, I have, I’ve been telling him, us guards, we need more protection against the cold. I mean, not that it bother a Nord like me, obviously, like a summer’s day, this is, but still. A man could use warmer armour sometimes, couldn’t he? That’s only reasonable, that is. Maybe a fire to stand by. A bottle of mead. A nice warm bed. Not much to ask, is it? I don’t think so. You go tell the commander.’

"Might have done, yes," Halldis shot him a look, and shrugged, "You asked for it though."

“I could stop whenever I want. These are just choices.”

"Well, I'm afraid they're rather poor choices," Halldis frowned, "I don't see why you'd want to keep making them."

‘Doing fire magic on a ship seems...unwise. I suppose he’s probably practiced enough that he doesn’t have to worry about it much but...what if you caught your own ship on fire? Or...or when he’s juggling...how is he not afraid of setting himself on fire???’
