Bookshop AU + Bar AU for SuperCorp.... seems interesting, no?

Oh so if Barnes&Noble is still around and still has a cafè inside like the one near where I lived in Jersey did, I’d have Kara work as a barista and Lena is the college student who always goes to that store to buy her books, then sits down for a coffee and reads what she just bought. 

And it’s always the same order so Kara’s got it memorized and it’s something like an americano but with extra shots of espresso because Lena is going through a phaseTM - until one day Lena’s order changes so radically that Kara realizes something is wrong with her (Andrea broke up with her or something) and that is when they start talking. Rather Kara talks, and Lena doesn’t want to interact at all because she just want to self-flagellate over her emotions and read her damn book thank you, but Kara is insistent like a gnat so eventually she gives in and... Kara’s actually nice? A goofball but nice? And they start to have actual conversations, over books and poets (they have the same faves???) and Lena finds out Kara is an english lit major (which is what she wanted to do but Lillian pushed her into engineering) and before she knows it she catches feelings. 

We shall call it the “oh my god they were bookmates” au

        LETTING OUT a soft sigh, Evie found herself silently sitting in her mother’s chair behind her desk, absentmindedly typing things on her computer. this was one of the moments she didn’t like, when her mother was in a meeting. normally she had no problem in entertaining herself, but she’d already finished her homework and the extra work. Letting out a soft sigh, Evie finished the report she was typing up for her mom and looked up as someone entered, she looked familiar but she couldn’t tell from where. “I’m sorry, but, who ARE YOU?”.

At 1:07am, a light breeze came in through the open window of Johannah’s bedroom. She stirred, a light enough sleeper to have noticed. What escaped her notice was how the breeze was brought in by a blonde in a red cape. That was until her bed and sheets began to shift at the arrival of a second person. Her eyes briefly flashed amber, and the darkness of midnight became as daylight to her sight. She turned to face her guest, pulling the sheets up high over her chest. “I... What’s happening right now?”

“Charlie-boy!” Emma ran up to Charles to hug him, nearly lifting him off the ground. The party had already been as hilarious as she expected it to be, the Boyles being incredibly weird, and this was the cherry on top. “Wait-oy, Cousin Holly, save me some of that cream!” "Emma, finally: this is Jake, my best friend and the best detective of the 99!”  “Aren’t you also a detective-” “And Jake, this is Emma, our new honorary Boyle. Are you trying Holly’s bagels?” “Seconds.” “Oh, Jake, you two have to talk, she’s exactly like me. A blonde Charles!”

 “A blonde Charles!” Emma repeated with a laugh, finding that even more amusing - oh she adored that man, “totally! Hi!”

hey nic, do you mind sharing about how to promote your discord rpg? :)

hiya !  i think it depends on how formal you’d like to group to be.  some people create ‘formal’ groups with tumblr mains to promo on and some people take a more casual approach where they promo straight out of their rpt !  i also tried creating a blog especially for discord rp promos a while back, and i’m still willing to post — @discordads !  i just didn’t receive many promo submissions so there’s no way to really keep it running.

if you’d like an example of formal,  i created a tumblr main for a group with my friend vic called @zombnb !  you just set it up like a normal rp blog and decide how you’d like to invite people to your server.  make sure u include the discord rp tag so people know what platform u’ll be using as well :D

for more casual groups,  i’d point you to this example !  it’s from my second run of a laid-back discord verse called homesick.  just create a post that shares a plot summary and tell people how they can join !  i’ve found that people really appreciate taken fc lists too.  this method tends to attract mutuals more than tag lurkers though !
