the dreams a diurnal dilemna bring
since i started working, i've acquired this bad habit of sleeping off my weekends. understandable, as i barely get past 6 hours of sleep in the weekdays, with my shift starting at 12 midnight. it's just so hard to simulate an 'after-a-hard-day's-work' mood when sunlight bathes my bedroom in its morning glory while i try to force a shut-eye. i try to convince myself that it's just like living in alaska(?) in the nonwinter months.
so yeah the past month i have been hibernating on weekends. by that i mean sleeping at least 12 hours a day(weirdly i adapt back to my normal diurnal influence, ie, i sleep at night)! and boy, 12 hours can spell a lot of things, sleepwise. i must have gone through a thousand REM cycles on this particular weekend zombie mode; my dreams(emphasis on the plurality) last night were incredibly vivid(colored, yes). in one, i was taming a witch who decided to switch back to the good side..with-wait for it- karaoke. >.< said witch had to change shirts everytime she changed songs on the karaoke machine. and i remember keeping close tabs on her singing training, clipboards and all. wth? what have my subconscious been up to???
dream number 2 involved a modern city rotunda, which i first came upon with this incredibly detailed 30-ft high aerial view. by the rotunda were shops tailored to a 50-year technological advancement. one of the shops was a 7-11(yes worry not, 7-11, you are still alive and selling 50 years from now) with machine dispensers for EVERYTHING. i was buying pocky(yes i is asian -_-v) and some other thing that seemed important. when i was checking out my merchandise, i realized i only had $5 in my wallet, while my bill totaled to 6.49. the clerk(a half-robot with an afro) was getting impatient while i desperately tried to fish out quarters from the recesses of my wallet-good thing i found enough coins! as i went out of the store, the clerk offered to come with me and tour me around the rotunda labyrinth(the underground tunnel trails they use to get around the different shops by the rotunda instead of going out into the open road). the labyrinth trip was pretty cool until we came upon this mud hill with barefooted women worshippers. now these worshippers were of a special racial descent, as their feet had suctions on them and they could climb up the muddy hill without slipping. (picture women in robes climbing up lizardesquely to the top of the mud hill). robo-clerk then revealed his evil side and forced me to robe up and climb as the worshippers did. left with no choice, i obeyed; and to my surprise i found out that i had the same suctioned feet as the worshippers >.< as i made my way to the top under the evil watchful eye of robo-clerk, i noticed a rumble in the earth. the next thing i knew, the earth was violently shaking to robo-clerks evil laugh; then the ground gave way and buried me alive >.<
now in my dream i was convinced i was dead; yet it continued on to the city beyond the modern day rotunda. following the landslide, another calamity struck the city; and it warranted an emergency cable rescue for the cars in the highway; it worked basically like those cable lifts in mountain ski resorts-- a cable from the sky would fish out cars one by one from the impending doom of the road. now it was our car's turn to be fished out. our car somehow missed the link and burst into flames as it hit the ground >.<
so i died twice in one multi-dream sleep. that tells me that either i have been sleeping too much, or my subconscious is incredibly wacked. daym i miss my normal sleep cycle.
